After all, there’s a little witch in all of us.

Curiosity got the better of her, and she cautiously approached the front door. To her surprise, a small sign hung on the door, which read: "Home of the Good Witch, Dahlia." Lily's heart skipped a beat.

Halloween is all about the grotesque costumes and decorations.

And the excitement and sugar-rush of all the candy and treats dished out to little trick or treaters or served at fun parties.

And don’t forget about the build-up of all the gruesome, blood curdling thrillers and supernatural movies on show (both old and new)!

One such movie that comes to mind for me in particular (and is one of my absolute favorite Halloween movies without a doubt) is Practical Magic.

It’s part romantic comedy, part supernatural, and undeniably all-in chick-flick.

This golden oldie sets the tone and inspiration perfectly for my Practical Magic Midnight Margaritas which I can’t wait to share with you as Halloween fast approaches!!

Could it be true? Was there really a good witch living in her village? Summoning all her courage, Lily knocked on the door. After a few moments, it creaked open, revealing a warm, inviting interior. Stepping inside, Lily found herself surrounded by shelves filled with potions, spell books, and peculiar objects she couldn't quite identify. The air was thick with the scent of herbs and magic. And then, emerging from the shadows, a kind, elderly woman appeared. It was Dahlia, the Good Witch. Her wrinkled face was adorned with a gentle smile, and her eyes sparkled with wisdom. Dahlia sensed the curiosity and wonder in Lily's heart and invited her to sit down at a small table. Over a cup of steaming herbal tea, Dahlia shared stories of her magical adventures and the wonders of the forest. She spoke of kind fairies, mischievous gnomes, and majestic unicorns. Lily's eyes widened with amazement, hanging onto every word that escaped Dahlia's lips. Touched by Lily's pure heart and unwavering belief in magic, Dahlia decided to gift her with a special present. She retrieved a small, intricately carved box from a hidden nook in the cottage. The box seemed to emit a faint glow, resonating with unearthly energy. Dahlia explained that the box contained a powerful talisman, passed down through generations of witches. It had the ability to grant one wish, but only for those who truly believed in the magic it held. Lily's heart raced with excitement. She knew that this wondrous present was a manifestation of her unwavering belief. With the box safely in her possession, Lily bid farewell to Dahlia, promising to use her wish wisely. The village was abuzz with anticipation as Lily decided what she desired most. Her heart longed for unity and happiness among her fellow villagers. On a starlit night, under the watchful eyes of the enchanted forest, Lily closed her eyes, held the talisman close to her heart, and made her wish. In an instant, the village was transformed. The air was filled not only with magic but also with love and harmony. From that day forward, the village prospered, and the people lived in peace. Lily's wondrous present from the good witch became a symbol of the power of belief and the beauty that comes from embracing the magic within. And so, the legend of Lily, the girl who believed, lived on, inspiring generations to never lose sight of the wondrous possibilities that exist in the world..
