The Niagara Falls is a magical spectacle that leaves visitors in awe. This natural wonder, located on the border of Ontario, Canada and New York, USA, is made up of three massive waterfalls - the Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. Each year, millions of people from around the world flock to witness the sheer power and beauty of this majestic attraction. The Horseshoe Falls, also known as the Canadian Falls, is the largest and most famous waterfall in Niagara Falls. It gets its name from its horseshoe-shaped crest and offers a breathtaking view from both the Canadian and American sides. The American Falls, although smaller in size, is equally impressive, characterized by its distinctive curve and massive volume of water pouring over the edge.

I'm reading one right now with a very interesting magic system. The MC is a magic researcher so lots of magic system exploration. Heck, they have a full thesis paper, peer review, magic journal publishing system in detail.

A novel that focuses on the research and advancement of something imaginary such as magic, so not a book about a mage per say although the main character could be one, but primarily on how the magic works or what types there are and discoveries therein. Lastly, the Bridal Veil Falls, located next to the American Falls, is the smallest cascade but still adds to the overall grandeur of Niagara Falls. What makes Niagara Falls truly magical is not just its size, but the mesmerizing display of water, mist, and rainbows that accompany the cascades.

I guess a simplified way of saying what I'm asking is to think of what a scientist does with research in real life and just apply it to a fantasy novel or whatever setting you want really.

Re: Is there a genre for this type of book?

Every good book about magic has a magic system. As to whether or not there are books entirely about magic research, I can’t think of any off hand, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any. The problem I could see is that aa book simply about research is probably a pretty dull book. People want to read about character growth, interaction, and living. Action and adventure and romance. If you canfit this into the story of the discovery of a spell, go ahed. Otherwise, do what most people do and write a fiction and i clude the research in it.

It's called Throne of Magical Arcana. Though it is by a Chinese author, it is absolutely western in style.

Click the banner! A dark high fantasy with a grey protagonist and actual character development.

I'll try my hand at writing my own although I'm not sure on how far my imagination takes me in the depth of the magic system.

Thank you I'll definitely look into it.

The sound of the rushing water, the mist that envelops the area, and the vibrant colors of the rainbows create a captivating atmosphere. Visitors can experience the magic up close by taking a boat tour on the Maid of the Mist, which allows them to get as close as possible to the thundering falls. The Journey Behind the Falls is another popular attraction, where visitors can descend into tunnels behind the cascades to witness their power from a different perspective. Aside from the falls themselves, the surrounding area offers various activities and attractions. The Niagara Parkway and the Niagara Gorge are scenic routes that provide breathtaking views of the falls and the lush landscape. Clifton Hill, known as the "Street of Fun," is filled with museums, entertainment centers, and amusement rides. The Skylon Tower and Niagara SkyWheel offer bird's eye views of the falls and the surrounding area, providing a different vantage point to appreciate their magnificence. In conclusion, Niagara Falls is a magical spectacle that captivates all who see it. Its gigantic waterfalls, the Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls, are awe-inspiring in their size and power. The accompanying water mist, rainbows, and the sheer force of the water create an enchanting experience.
