Review: Magic Wand Mini

I squealed when I heard that Vibratex, makers of the in famous Magic Wand, were releasing their first petite version: the Magic Wand Mini.

There are already three other Magic Wands out there: the Magic Wand Rechargeable (MWR), the corded Magic Wand Plus, and the original (porous) Hitachi Magic Wand). Out of those three, the new Magic Wand Mini is essentially a smaller duplicate of the Magic Wand Rechargeable.

I absolutely loved the Magic Wand Rechargeable and it became one of my most beloved wands of all time, but I LOVE a good petite wand and so the Magic Wand Mini is a welcome addition to my bedroom.

As you can see from these images, the Magic Wand Mini is a shorter, narrower version of the Magic Wand Rechargeable. Asides from size, updated logo, and buttons, they are nearly identical.

The Magic Wand Mini is about 9.5 inches long, shorter than the full-size MWR’s 13 inches. The Mini also has a smaller head: about 2″ wide (1/2 inch thinner than the MWR) and x 1.75″ long (1/4″ shorter than the MWR). As a result, it’s a lot lighter than the full-size version and feels a lot more petite and maneuverable in the bedroom.

Like with previous versions, the Magic Wand Mini has a slightly flexible neck. The head is coated in matte bodysafe silicone and the body is a shiny hard ABS plastic. This toy is rechargeable but not waterproof.

Unlike the full-size Magic Wand Rechargeable, the Magic Wand Mini only offers 3 steady states. There are no patterns.

Aesthetically, the Hitachi Magic Wands by Vibratex always go for a more medical/functional appearance. They’re white and blue and look like they would be at home in a physiotherapist’s office. Some shoppers will appreciate how they look less like a sex toy and more like a back massager (and so are more discreet).
