The Worst Witch is a British television series based on a series of children's books written by Jill Murphy. The show first aired in 1986 and has since become a cult classic. Ethel is the school bully who constantly tries to sabotage Mildred, while Maud is Mildred's best friend and always stands by her side.

Jones and Brown both do a great job of bringing these characters to life and showcasing their unique personalities. Miss Cackle, the headmistress of the school, is played by Una Stubbs. Stubbs brings a sense of authority and warmth to the character, making Miss Cackle a beloved figure among the students. The rest of the cast members, including Miss Hardbroom (played by Kate Duchêne) and Miss Bat (played by Annette Badland), also do a fantastic job of portraying their respective characters. Overall, the cast members of The Worst Witch 1986 did an excellent job of bringing the beloved characters from the books to life on the small screen. Their performances added depth and dimension to the story, making the show a must-watch for fans of the series..
