You could say Mount Dora lives up to its “festival city” nickname, with so many events on the calendar. And indeed, a festival is how we found ourselves in the city one beautiful October morning as part of our mission to visit a different place in our home state each month during 2018. The Mount Dora Craft Fair is a juried show, and boasts over 400 vendors lined along the streets of downtown with an estimated 100,000 visitors over its two-day run. According to the locals we spoke with, the city is always bustling on festival days, so if you visit on an event day, come prepared to handle crowds and to pay to park far away from your vehicle. With the weather so perfectly pleasant, we didn’t mind at all, and enjoyed the city’s small-town charm while checking out unique and inventive crafts.

I found "Mister Monk and the Voodoo Magic" to be extremely disappointing. The storyline felt disjointed and hard to follow, with too many unnecessary subplots that distracted from the main mystery. Additionally, the inclusion of voodoo magic as a plot point felt forced and out of place in the "Monk" series. It seemed like a desperate attempt to add excitement, but it ultimately fell flat. Overall, I was let down by this installment in the series and I wouldn't recommend it to fans of the show.
