Has anyone ever used a product called "Magic Shaving Powder"?

I am just curious about this product. I know you don't need a razor and brush but I worked with a guy a while back who used this stuff and he always had a face so clean and clear that it made me very curious about this product.

P.S. please feel free to move this post if needed.

Not Much. its not really a shave powder as such, more like a chemical treatment.

Thioglycolic something, Lithium something. Nice:

Water Aqua , Cetearyl Alcohol , Thioglycolic Acid , Calcium Hydroxide , Mineral Oil Paraffinum Liquidum , Ceteareth-20 , Sodium Metasilicate , Cocoa Seed Butter , Theobroma Cacao , PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil , Fragrance Parfum , Lithium Hydroxide , Pentasodium Pentetate , Polyquaternium-39 , Dimethicone , PEG , PEG-8 Stearate , Glyceryl Stearate

Give us the luxuries, and we will forgo the necessities.

I actually used Nair on my thigh one time just to test it out. Every single hair folicle turned into a red bump. I'd hate to see this on my face.

The original formula stinks to high heaven. I remember my father using the original formula and being force to shaved in the back yard due to it's smell. Some of the other formulas smell a little better.

In my quest to end PFB, I tried this stuff for a few years. You have to be extremely careful with how long you leave it on, or you will suffer from some serious chemical burns.

In college my friend tried to use this stuff. He read the instructions which said to leave on for 5 - 7 minutes. He applied it and waited 5 - 7 minutes, big mistake. He did not take into consideration the time it took him to apply it. He burned a nice layer of skin off, and sported a scalped beard area.

This also doesn't like sweat, your face has to be dry. They also tell you not to wash your face before hand. Oh yeah and don't even think about using alcohol or alcohol based product before or after using this stuff. I still have a two cans of this stuff. Man! I never throw stuff away! Be happy that you can use a blade.

Well, in all fairness to this product, it does work well if you follow the timing guidelines, and your skin can handle the chemicals. The chemicals perform a mild form of exfoliation. However, this is definitley not a product for stupid people.

Let's see what it says:

DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT WITH A RAZOR
Caution: Contains thioglycolate. Follow directions carefully.
This product may cause skin irritation. If skin is inflamed or has
skin abrasions, facial sores or pustules., consult a dermatologist
before using this product.

* Wait 36 hours before using a razor, shaving product or device.
* Do not use after perspiring heavily. Do not wash face before use.
* Do not use after prolonged sun exposure.
* Do not use with any after-shave product containing alcohol.
* Timing is crucial to avoid excessive irritation. For external use only.
If power or the mixture gets into eyes, rinse repeatedly, with water.
Magic Shaving Powder is used only to remove facial hair, Keep away
from children

themba,
The way you've described the Magic Shaving Powder, especially the original formula, I'm at a loss as to why more of us have not switched from our DE razors to this.

Although for anyone interested I will gladly take your gently used DE's off your hands and ship a couple of these to your home, on me. PM me if interested.

Seriosly though, this should have a stupid human warning on it.

Reviews for "Experiencing the enchantment of Merlin's Magic Tree House"

1. John - 2/5 - I was really disappointed with "Merlin Magic Tree House". The story was not engaging at all and the characters felt flat and uninteresting. It seemed like the author was just trying to cash in on the popularity of fantasy books without putting any effort into creating a unique and captivating story. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone looking for a thrilling and imaginative read.
2. Sarah - 1/5 - "Merlin Magic Tree House" was a complete waste of time. The plot was predictable and the writing was lackluster. I found myself skimming through the pages just to get to the end. The dialogue felt forced and unnatural, making it difficult to connect with the characters. Overall, I was highly disappointed with this book and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
3. Mike - 2/5 - I had high hopes for "Merlin Magic Tree House", but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The pacing was off, with some parts dragging on and others feeling rushed. The world-building was also lacking, leaving me with more questions than answers. The writing style was mediocre, lacking the depth and intricacy that I look for in fantasy novels. Overall, it was a forgettable and underwhelming read.
4. Emily - 2/5 - I found "Merlin Magic Tree House" to be quite underwhelming. The story had potential, but it was poorly executed. The characters were one-dimensional and the plot lacked depth and complexity. The dialogue was also cringe-worthy at times, lacking authenticity. I was hoping for a magical and captivating adventure, but unfortunately, this book didn't deliver. I would recommend looking for a different fantasy series to invest your time in.
