The Enigma of Magic Smoke: Why Do Electronic Components Release Smoke?

By admin

Magic smoke electronics is a term used to describe an electronic component that has been damaged or destroyed due to excessive electrical current or voltage. When a component such as a resistor, capacitor, or integrated circuit is subjected to too much electricity, it can overheat and release a visible smoke, often accompanied by a distinct smell. This release of smoke is often referred to as the "magic smoke." The term "magic smoke" is often used humorously by electronics enthusiasts to describe a situation where a component has failed and is causing a visible smoke or smell. It is an ironic way to acknowledge that the component has reached its limit and can no longer function properly. In reality, the release of smoke from an electronic component is a sign of serious damage and should be taken seriously.

It’s great to see this gem dusted off and updated. At the end of the day, I will be sticking with the original version, but I’m happy I picked up this version just to see all the variations that are possible. If you’ve never done the Grail and you like this plot, this is a must buy in my opinion. It doesn’t require a memorized stack and it doesn’t require any gimmicked cards unless you want to use one. So you can use the deck for the rest of your set without a deck switch if you’d like. Overall, a top notch effect from the golden age of Alakazam.

At the end of the day, I will be sticking with the original version, but I m happy I picked up this version just to see all the variations that are possible. So it s a nice tool to have in your head if ever needed, but because the original version is so clean and straightforward, it s not a version I can see myself ever performing.

Watch the video and find out!

Spoiler: it's not on his top ten list because the product description says this can be an everyday carry while the truth is the gimmick would likely break if used as a regular key ring.

I did browse the list and didn’t see it there but I don’t like carrying any of my magic effects literally on a daily basis . Even wallets I just fill them up to look like everyday when I intend using them or there is a strong likelihood I might . I am very protective of my magic props except cards I just use a new deck every gig . I am sure Craig has chose 10 good effects I just haven’t got around to watching this particular show yet . I would put him at the top of my review show list with Steve Faulkner , seasons greetings to all Gaz 😊

I think Jamie Daws should of been somewhere on that list, some phenomenal releases this year and John Carey as well, some awesome card routines.

It's Craig's list and JDs tricks aren't his style so no, they shouldn't have been on Craig's list. If you have your own top ten then feel free to post here.
