We finally got to spend time with the all-important yet back-burnered coven, which I suppose you could call a subplot; that of Deph finding her place as a witch. Especially since one neighbor is trying to seduce her, another neighbor is trying to steal her house out from under her, and a third neighbor is trying to get her kicked off the planet.
It was believed that witches had the ability to perform spells, cast curses, and commune with spirits. These beliefs were fueled by superstition, fear, and a lack of understanding of the natural world.
