Legends surrounding the magic bean filled the imaginations of people far and wide. Some believed that the bean could bring forth great wealth and fortune, while others thought it could heal any ailment or bring eternal youth. The stories of the bean's wonder and power spread throughout the land, captivating the hearts and minds of those who heard them.
Visitor Experience
For the preservation of the space and the safety of all staff and visitors, we ask that visitors refrain from touching or climbing the artwork including mosaicked walls, sculptures, and special exhibition works. PMG reserves the right to refuse entry or escort visitors off the premises who are wearing items of clothing that are deemed offensive or are making other guests uncomfortable.
The stories of the bean's wonder and power spread throughout the land, captivating the hearts and minds of those who heard them. Many adventurers set out on quests to find this mystical bean, hoping to change their lives forever. However, no one was ever successful in locating it.
Exhibitions
Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens (PMG) displays the art of local, national, and international artists whose work responds to or reflects upon themes found throughout the PMG site in a unique and exciting way.
Priority is given to self-taught, mosaic, or folk artists who demonstrate an unconventional understanding of material or who approach their artistry in inventive, nontraditional ways.
If you are an artist interested in exhibiting your work at PMG, fill out the Exhibition Application. Artists who create work relating the mission and aesthetics of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens are welcome to submit applications.
