Once upon a time, in a small town, there was an ordinary home depot. It was a usual place where people came to buy their construction materials and tools. But one day, something unexpected happened. A group of witches visited the home depot to buy supplies for their magical experiments. These witches were not like the stereotypical witches seen in movies and books. They were modern witches who used advanced technology and unconventional methods in their practices.
Poppy Tooker, a native New Orleanian and host of the radio show Louisiana Eats!, spoke to All Things Considered's Kelly McEvers on Thursday about how Prudhomme changed the way we think about food.
In the grocery aisle, Prudhomme was perhaps best known for his Magic Spice Blend, which contains salt, paprika, white pepper, onion powder, garlic power, black pepper, thyme and oregano. He passed it out into a restaurant and everybody loved the redfish so much that quickly a fish that had kind of been a trash fish it became so sought after that he was literally responsible through that dish for that entire species almost becoming extinct.

As the witches wandered through the aisles of the home depot, they found everything they needed - cauldrons, potions, brooms, and more.
Remembering Paul Prudhomme, The Louisiana Chef Who 'Made Magic'

"Man, in New Orleans we really are fortunate — we got some of the best things in the world," Chef Paul Prudhomme once said. "And one of those things is the muffuletta sandwich."
And one of the best things about New Orleans was Prudhomme himself.
He was known for introducing blackened redfish to the rest of us, for his cooking demos and for his line of magic spices. Needless to say, Prudhomme changed the way the world saw Louisiana cooking.
He has died at the age of 75.

"Paul didn't just change the way the country and the world viewed the food of southern Louisiana, but in fact because he grew up on a sharecropping farm as one of 13, they lived off the land completely. So when Paul got his first big break and worked at Commander's Palace [a restaurant in New Orleans], he began the farm to table movement."
What's more, says Tooker, by "eating local, seasonal, fresh, he revolutionized the entire American food scene, not just Creole and Cajun."
Prudhomme was actually the first American chef hired at Commander's Palace, says Tooker. "Before that time, as in much of the U.S., everybody thought that you had to go to France to get a chef if you were going to have a fine-dining establishment. And he changed all that."

The menu dish Prudhomme was most famous for is blackened redfish. "He created it almost on a whim, in a black iron skillet," she says. "He passed it out into a restaurant and everybody loved the redfish so much that quickly a fish that had kind of been a trash fish it became so sought after that he was literally responsible through that dish for that entire species almost becoming extinct."
But what Tooker says she will remember most about Prudhomme is "his enormous generosity of spirit. Paul was a man who could never tell you no. His heart was always open, and a smile was always on his face. And whether it was in the pot or in the pan, he was always making a little magic."

But there was one item they couldn't find - a floating spell book stand. They needed it to hold their spellbooks while they worked on their potions and incantations. One of the witches had read about a floating spell book stand in an ancient spellbook passed down through her family. It was said to be a powerful tool that could enhance the magic of any spell caster. Determined to find it, the witches asked the store staff if they could help. The staff at the home depot were surprised by the witches' request, but they were determined to assist. They searched through their inventory and consulted with experts to find a solution. Finally, they found a custom floating shelf that could be modified to serve as a spellbook stand. The witches were thrilled with the solution offered by the home depot staff. They purchased the floating shelf and worked their magic to customize it for their spellbooks. They inscribed ancient runes on the edges of the shelf, enhancing its mystical properties. From that day on, the home depot became known as the "Floating Witch Home Depot." The witches would often visit, not only to buy materials but also to share their magical knowledge with the store staff. The staff, in turn, became familiar with the needs of witches and expanded their inventory to include specialized tools and supplies. The Floating Witch Home Depot became a gathering place for witches, both seasoned practitioners, and curious beginners. It became a hub where magical knowledge and construction expertise merged. People in the town started visiting the home depot out of curiosity and ended up discovering a whole new world of possibilities. The town's perception of witches changed from fear and misunderstanding to intrigue and appreciation. The witches became valued members of the community, sharing their wisdom, and using their powers to help others. The Floating Witch Home Depot became a symbol of unity and collaboration between the magical and non-magical worlds. And so, the story of the Floating Witch Home Depot spread far and wide, inspiring other witches and communities to embrace their unique qualities and find common ground. It was a reminder that magic could be found in the most unexpected places, and that sometimes, all it took was a bit of creativity and collaboration to make it flourish..

1. Samantha - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with "Floating witch home depot". The plot was all over the place and it felt like it was trying too hard to be creepy. The acting was also subpar, with most of the characters coming off as unconvincing and forced. I couldn't connect with any of them or the story itself. Overall, I found it to be a poor attempt at a horror film and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a good scare.
2. Michael - 1 star - "Floating witch home depot" was a complete waste of time for me. The special effects were laughable and the dialogue was cringe-worthy. The story made no sense and the whole concept of a floating witch just seemed absurd. I kept hoping that it would get better, but it just became more and more ridiculous as the film went on. I regret watching it and I would advise others to avoid it at all costs.
3. Emily - 2 stars - "Floating witch home depot" had so much potential, but it failed to deliver. The pacing was off, with slow and drawn-out scenes that seemed to go nowhere. The scares were predictable and I didn't find anything original or innovative about the film. The ending was also underwhelming and left me feeling unsatisfied. I had high hopes for this movie, but sadly it fell short of my expectations.
4. David - 2 stars - I was hoping for a good horror film when I saw "Floating witch home depot", but I was sorely disappointed. The story was confusing and hard to follow, and the scares were more unintentionally funny than genuinely scary. The characters were also poorly developed and the acting was subpar. I found myself losing interest and checking my phone throughout the film. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a captivating horror experience.
