As we bid farewell to the winter season, Discord - the popular communication and community platform - has introduced a delightful spring mascot. The mascot, known as Springy, symbolizes the arrival of spring and the blooming of new beginnings. Springy brings a fresh energy and vibrant colors to Discord. It is a playful and animated creature, resembling a bunny with a spring for a body. A few months ago, we ran a Contentful Developer Community Survey (shout out to those who participated) to find out what was working and what could be improved upon. When asked what types of resources were the most valuable, virtual meet-ups and video tutorials were at the top of the list.

Moreover, Springy is not just a visually appealing mascot, it serves as a reminder of the importance of change and growth.

I know, I know . . . I really wanted to see the veggie giant knock out the junk food giant. I also feel Mr. Sanders is somewhat of a middle-ground guy since he is just breading and frying chicken; so long as the chicken is raised and fed properly, it can't be too too bad. Right? I digress . . .

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.
Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.

1. Sarah - 1 star - I have to say, I was really disappointed with the Discord spring mascot. It looked nothing like what I expected and seemed more creepy than cute. The design was just off-putting and didn't give me any warm feelings associated with spring. I think they could have done a much better job with the mascot, and it definitely didn't live up to the hype for me.
2. Alex - 2 stars - The Discord spring mascot was such a letdown. The character looked hastily put together and lacked the creativity and charm that I usually associate with Discord. It seemed like they were trying too hard to come up with something unique and ended up with a design that was confusing and unappealing. I really hope they can do better next time because this one was a miss for me.
3. Mike - 1 star - I was really expecting something fun and lighthearted for the Discord spring mascot, but what I got was a strange, unsettling creature. The design didn't capture the essence of spring at all and felt more like a weird mashup of different animal features. It just didn't sit well with me and I found it rather disturbing. I think Discord missed the mark with this mascot and should rethink their approach for future seasonal characters.
4. Emily - 2 stars - I was really excited to see what Discord would come up with for their spring mascot, but unfortunately, it fell flat for me. The design felt uninspired and lacked the cuteness and vibrancy that I associate with spring. It was just a mediocre character that didn't really make me feel anything or get me excited about the season. I think they could have done so much better and I hope they step up their game for future mascots.
