Lost and Forgotten: The Untold Story of the USS Water Witch

By admin

The Uss Water Witch was a small steam-powered vessel that served in the United States Navy during the mid-19th century. It was commissioned in 1851 and initially intended for use as a surveying ship, but would later be employed for anti-slavery patrols in the African and South American waters. The ship played a significant role in the United States' efforts to combat the illegal slave trade during this time period. The Transatlantic Slave Trade had been abolished, but many individuals and groups persisted in their attempts to smuggle enslaved Africans across the ocean. The Uss Water Witch was tasked with patrolling the West African coast and intercepting any vessels suspected of engaging in the illicit slave trade. In addition to its anti-slavery duties, the Uss Water Witch was called upon to conduct hydrographic surveys of various coastlines.

XBoom Excavator Skid Steer Coupler Adapter | Amulet

Quickly switch between excavator and skid steer or mini skid steer attachments on your mini excavator with this revolutionary attachment system! This allows you to get more out of the machines and attachments you already have. Use skid steer buckets, pallet forks, mowers etc on your excavator. The only limitation is making sure not to tip your machine with too much weight. The Amulet XBoom Excavator Coupler System is comprised of three interacting components that allow you to convert a mini excavator into a rigid boom skid steer attachment carrier. The first component is installed at the end of the boom and dipper stick, where the excavator arm would normally attach. This specialized mount quickly attaches using pins to either the XBoom skid steer (or mini skid steer) mount, or the 3rd component that attaches to the excavator arm where it connects to the boom, making switching between the arm and the skid steer mount extremely quick. With this rigid boom machine set up the excavator can run virtually any skid steer attachment. Check out the Product Video’s tab for a video that shows this process, as it’s a bit tough to visualize.

While the skid steer mount is in place, the overall footprint of the machine is smaller (because the excavator arm is removed) and the center of gravity is closer to the machine for improved lift and carrying capacity. You also lose none of the range of motion that your excavator provides.

Find out what it’s like to run standard skid steer, bobcat, mini universal (Ditchwitch, Vermeer, Dingo etc.) or other attachments you may own, on your mini ex. The possibilities go on and on.

Add on the QC Mate Quick Coupler Hand Clamp to make connecting your hydraulic quick couplers a breeze. As you switch back and forth between skid steer attachments and your excavator boom, pressure can build up in the hydraulic lines, making it nearly impossible to connect your quick couplers. QC Mate solves that problem.

How to Use the Amulet of Yggdrasil

The special item known as the Amulet of Yggdrasil can be found partway through the story, as a reward for beating the main boss of Chapter 6 - The Reckoning. After defeating them, you'll automatically pick up this reward, which can be viewed as part of your Armor.

The amulet itself provides no bonuses, but through the empty slots, you can equip up to nine Enchantments you find elsewhere in your travel to increase each of your stats. You'll initially start with only two slots available, but you can find Jewels of Yggdrasil to unlock the other seven.

There are many different types of Enchantments you can find, some serving particular purposes, and others all-encompassing in their use. As you progress further into the game and unlock more slots, you'll be able to customize your bonuses even more, swap them out to deal with specific threats or bosses, and compliment your current gear or skills.

    List of Enchantments

Here you will find a list of the different Enchantments you can find and equip as you progress through the story, undertake side quests, and defeat optional bosses. There are six categories of Enchantments:

    • Realm Enchantments - These Enchantments normally focus only on improving Kratos' stats. But if you socket at least three of them, you'll unlock a Set Bonus Perk that will be increased based on one of Kratos' stats. There are five Enchantments for each of the nine realms.
    • Perk Enchantments - These don't give a stat bonus, and instead provide a Perk, similar to the rest of Kratos' gear. Many of these Perks won't activate until Kratos meets a minimum Stat value, making them useless otherwise.
    • Badge Enchantments - These New Game Plus-exclusive items replicate the Perks provided by the Shield Ronds from a standard playthrough. You buy them using Gilded Coins, which are awarded for upgrading a piece of gear to Power Level 9.1.
    • Engraving Enchantments - These New Game Plus-exclusive items are the same as Badge Enchantments, only they're based on Chest Armor Perks. These also require Kratos to meet a minimum Stat value before they'll activate, similar to Perk Enchantments.
    • Burden Enchantments - Exclusive to New Game Plus, these will inflict a negative buff on Kratos, making combat even more difficult.
    • Berserker Enchantments - Similar to Realm Enchantments, these New Game Plus-exclusive Enchantments focus purely on improving Kratos' stats. Unlike Ream Enchantments, they do not have Set Bonus Perks.

In addition to its anti-slavery duties, the Uss Water Witch was called upon to conduct hydrographic surveys of various coastlines. These surveys helped to improve navigation in the regions visited by the ship, benefiting both military and civilian maritime interests. During the American Civil War, the Uss Water Witch was stationed in the Gulf of Mexico and participated in various operations aimed at enforcing the Union blockade of Confederate ports.

    Uss wster witch

Unfortunately, the ship met a tragic end on June 3, 1864, when it was attacked and sunk by Confederate forces in Ossabaw Sound, Georgia. This incident resulted in the loss of several crew members and marked the end of the Uss Water Witch's service. Despite its relatively short career, the Uss Water Witch left a lasting impact on the United States Navy and its efforts to promote law and order on the high seas. The ship's involvement in anti-slavery operations and hydrographic surveys exemplified the Navy's commitment to upholding international laws and promoting maritime safety. Today, the Uss Water Witch is remembered as an important part of American naval history..
