The Good Witch of the East is a character from the classic novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" written by L. Frank Baum. She is one of the four witches who rule over the Land of Oz. The Good Witch of the East is portrayed as a kind and benevolent character who helps Dorothy, the protagonist of the story, on her journey to meet the Wizard of Oz. The Good Witch of the East is first introduced when a cyclone transports Dorothy's house from Kansas to the Land of Oz, crushing the wicked Witch of the East in the process. The Good Witch appears to Dorothy in the form of a beautiful young woman, dressed all in white, and explains to her that she has killed the wicked witch and freed the Munchkins from her tyranny.
