Once upon a time, in a distant village, there lived a witch named Matilda. Matilda was notorious for her insatiable appetite. She would eat anything and everything that crossed her path. One day, as she was flying through the forest, she spotted a juicy fly buzzing around. Without thinking twice, Matilda opened her mouth wide and swallowed the fly whole. Little did Matilda know, swallowing the fly would lead to a series of unfortunate events.
For example, in 1984 while riding the Staten Island Ferry, he discovered the Force M.D.’s, expressing their unique blend of doo wop, hip-hop, harmonizing soul. He brought them up to his show to display their skills and shortly thereafter they were signed to Tommy Boy Records.
This time was at the dawn of hip-hop music, during the era when disco, funk and soul music dominated Black radio, and virtually no rap music was played over commercial air waves. He was soon dubbed The Official Voice of Hip-Hop , a position he cemented with a string of compilations for Profile Records in the late-80s, mostly consisting of artists he played a part in promoting, such as Public Enemy.
Little did Matilda know, swallowing the fly would lead to a series of unfortunate events. As soon as the fly went down her throat, Matilda began to feel a strange sensation. She could feel wings fluttering inside her stomach, causing her great discomfort.
