The bird, known for its melodious voice, was always admired by the other creatures in the forest. One day, while the bird was flying high above the trees, it came across a bee trying to gather nectar from a colorful flower. The bee was known for its sweet honey and was always busy collecting pollen. As the bird and the bee chatted, they heard an eerie cackle from the distance.

As the bird and the bee chatted, they heard an eerie cackle from the distance. It was the witch, who had been watching them from afar. The witch was notorious for her wickedness and had a desire for their talents.

About Songful Style
Songful Style is a new ageless style challenge series hosted by Suzy of The Grey Brunette, Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge and Marsha of Marsha in the Middle.
Each month we will share a song with the lyrics and video and we invite you to use whatever aspect of the song that inspires you to create an outfit.
It is similar to Style Imitating Art where we use artwork to inspire our outfit creations. Except Songful Style gives you lyrics, music, video, and album artwork to inspire your fashion creativity. You may even find inspiration in a memory triggered by the selected song. It is all open to your own personal interpretation and just a fun way to discover new music and get a little bit more creative with your wardrobe.
Anyone is welcome to join us on a permanent basis or you can just play along without any obligation to do anything other than feel inspired. We are flexible and fun and just want to find more ways to play dress up because it’s what we enjoy doing!

After I decided to use this song as inspiration, I have to admit that I was quite thoroughly stumped! There are no sartorial references made in the lyrics and I wasn’t feeling much like dressing like a Chipmunk so I leaned into the whole idea of a witch doctor.
But then I wasn’t sure exactly how a witch doctor would dress. Heck, I wasn’t even really sure what a witch doctor does. So I headed to Wikipedia to find out.
If you thought a witch doctor practices magic and other witchy things, then you are as wrong as I was. Witch doctors are actually healers who treat ailments that were supposedly caused by witchcraft. So a witch doctor is essentially anti-witchcraft. Witch doctors historically are considered practitioners of traditional, indigenous, or folk medicine which varies only slightly from healers who utilize alternative treatments such as naturopathy, homeopathy, Ayurveda, chiropractic, faith healing, and of course, my favorite, Reiki.
Once I made the connection between witch doctors and energy healers, creating a “witch doctor” outfit was super easy…I just had to dress like myself!
She approached them and offered a deal that they couldn't refuse. She promised the bird a voice that would surpass any other and the bee an endless supply of nectar. In return, the witch wanted their own talents. Excited by the prospect of greater abilities, the bird and bee agreed without giving it much thought. The witch cast her spell, and instantly, the bird lost its beautiful voice while the bee's honey production ceased. They were left devastated and regretful for their hasty decision. Realizing their mistake, they knew they had to undo the spell and retrieve their original talents. With the help of a wise owl, they devised a plan. The bird used its keen vision to spot an herb that would counteract the witch's spell. Meanwhile, the bee flew around the forest, collecting the magical pollen from various flowers. They mixed the herb and pollen together, creating a potion that would break the spell. They confronted the witch once again and tricked her into drinking the potion. As soon as the witch took a sip, a loud explosion occurred, and the spell was broken. The bird regained its beautiful voice, and the bee's honey production returned to normal. From that day on, the bird and the bee were more appreciative of their talents and never took them for granted. They also learned to be cautious about making impulsive decisions. The encounter with the witch taught them the value of their own abilities and the importance of being content with what they had. The tale of the bird and the bee witch is a reminder to appreciate our unique talents and to think carefully before making important decisions. It also teaches us the significance of friendship and the power of teamwork in overcoming challenges..

1. John - 2/5 - I found "The Bird and the Bee Witch" to be quite disappointing. The storyline lacked depth and was incredibly predictable. The characters felt one-dimensional and lacked development. Additionally, I found the dialogue to be cheesy and forced. Overall, I couldn't connect with the story or the characters, which made it difficult for me to enjoy the book.
2. Emily - 1/5 - I really struggled to get through "The Bird and the Bee Witch". The writing style was not engaging, and I found myself constantly bored while reading. The plot was weak and lacked any real excitement or suspense. The characters were forgettable and their actions often didn't make sense. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone looking for a gripping or well-written story.
3. Sarah - 2/5 - "The Bird and the Bee Witch" was a letdown for me. The pacing was slow and the story felt disjointed. There were too many unnecessary subplots that didn't add anything to the overall narrative. The magic system in the book was poorly defined and inconsistent. I was hoping for a captivating fantasy read, but unfortunately, this book fell short in many aspects.
4. David - 3/5 - While "The Bird and the Bee Witch" had an interesting premise, I felt that the execution was lacking. The world-building was minimal, leaving many questions unanswered and leaving me feeling confused at times. The pacing was uneven, with some parts dragging on while others felt rushed. The writing style was mediocre, and I couldn't fully immerse myself in the story. Overall, it was an average read that didn't live up to my expectations.
