Suny mascot madness 2023 is an exciting event that showcases the creativity and talent of the State University of New York (SUNY) community. In this event, each of the 64 SUNY campuses competes to create a new mascot that represents their school spirit and identity. Once the tree was burned, the ashes were gathered and buried into the soil for good luck in the next years harvest. (We now know that potassium which is found is wood ash is very good for plants so it makes sense why they would consider it good luck!)
Perhaps one of the most widely known traditions of Yule, the Yule Log was a large trunk or tree that was carried into the home and decorated with symbols of protection. This can be branches cut from a tree or found at a Christmas tree lot, a small potted evergreen, or imitation evergreen garland pinned around the side of the altar in a scalloped design.
It also serves as an opportunity for the public to learn more about the SUNY system and the unique characteristics of each campus. Ultimately, the goal of Suny mascot madness 2023 is to highlight the importance of school spirit and community within the SUNY system, as well as provide a fun and engaging platform for students to showcase their creativity..

As the Holidays approach, out come a variety of traditions and decorations. For most Pagans, Wiccans and Variety of Witches, a Yule Log is one of these primary customs. The Yule Log has roots (hah see what I did there) in Norse and German Traditions.
