"Sugar Sugar Rune" is a popular manga series created by Moyoco Anno. It was serialized in the Japanese magazine Nakayoshi from 2003 to 2007 and garnered a strong fan following during its run. Similarly, the Rabbit, that Daphne imbued with her own sense of hunger, had the power to multiplicate rapidly, meaning it could feed many bellies if it was hunted. Two additional unique mabeasts created were the Crimson Scorpion and the Centipede Coffin, the latter of which served as transportation for Daphne who believed moving was a waste of energy that only increased her hunger.
On the other hand, Vanilla is more reserved and hesitant but remains loyal to her best friend Chocolat. The two witches must use their magical abilities to collect human hearts, as the witches of the Witch World gain power from these hearts. However, there is a catch: the hearts must be given willingly as an expression of love.
