Bell Witch Announce New Surprise LP, Out Friday

When a funeral doom band puts a colon in their album title, you know it’s going to be massive. Seattle-based Bell Witch haven’t put out a proper full-length since 2017’s tremendous Mirror Reaper, but today announced their next release will be the 83-minute, single-track Future’s Shadow Part 1: The Clandestine Gate, part of a planned triptych of albums. In very un-funeral-doom fashion, it’s coming soon: this Friday, in fact. In addition to that digital release (CD follows June 9th via Profound Lore), the band will be performing the album in full at Roadburn that same day, as if I needed more reasons to wish I was at Roadburn this week.

“Eventually, the end of the last album will be looped around to the first to make a circle,” says bassist Dylan Desmond of the triptych. “It can be continuously looped, like a day cycle. This would be dawn. The next one would be noon. The following one would be sundown, with dawn and sundown both having something of night.”

Sweet. Funeral doom, forever.

You can pre-order/pre-save the album here.

Reviews for "The Global Phenomenon of Nrll Witch Vinyl Record Fairs"

1. Alice - 1 star
I honestly found "Nrll witch vinyl" to be a complete waste of time. The plot was confusing, the characters were underdeveloped, and the writing style just didn't do it for me. I struggled to connect with any aspect of the story and found myself constantly questioning what was actually happening. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with this book and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying read.
2. Mark - 2 stars
I had high hopes for "Nrll witch vinyl" based on the catchy title and intriguing synopsis, but I was left feeling let down. The story lacked a clear direction, and the pacing was all over the place. It felt like the author was trying too hard to be unique and ended up sacrificing coherence. Additionally, the characters felt flat and had little depth, making it difficult to form any emotional attachment. While there were some interesting ideas presented, they were just not executed well enough to salvage the overall reading experience.
3. Emily - 1 star
I struggled to finish "Nrll witch vinyl" as it simply failed to hold my interest. The writing style was convoluted and pretentious, with overly descriptive prose that detracted from the plot rather than enhancing it. The story itself felt disjointed, with random subplots and unnecessary detours that seemed to serve no purpose. I did not find any of the characters relatable or likable, which made it even harder to care about what was happening. Overall, I found this book to be a tiresome and frustrating read.
