Moonlight Magic 2023 Moonlight Magic is an annual event that takes place during the full moon in the month of July. That was odd. I just picked this up, but Lulu declined my credit card, and then my bank called me to say that their algorithms determined that using the card at Lulu was likely fraudulent activity and therefore they were locking my card until I confirmed I really wanted to make the purchase! Was able to make it with another card and then get my card unlocked as well. Very odd since Lulu is well established and I've purchased many things from there in the past (including Scott's previous books). Anyway. looking forward to the book, but just giving a heads up to people in case this happens to others!

I do know they have been having trouble with their new website. As an author I can tell you, the new site, is nowhere near as easy to use as the old one.

I don't know why they insisted on fixing something that wasn't broken, but hey that's progress for you.

Actually it’s not as strange as it may seem. I’m not sure if Lulu uses 3D Secure but if not the purchase will be seen as a non secure e-commerce transaction. It’s quite probable that due to the pandemic you have made multiple non secure e-commerce transactions compared to fewer point of sale transactions than normal. This will flag up on the fraud monitoring software.

You can blame me because if it is a U.K. bank I probably trained them how to set up the fraud monitoring system 🤣

I've always enjoyed performing pendulum effects, and look forward to performing "The Pendulum and the Envelope". I especially enjoy the fact that you're two ahead for most of the routine. I enjoyed "What's in a Name, and the variations you included. Years ago, you converted me to Bob Hummer's clever idea, and it was great to read your new ideas on it. "For the Love of Pi" is another effect I can't wait to perform. It's strange, as I'd never been excited about Pi until reading your book. Together, "The Bookless Book Test" and "Boxed Clown" make a wonderful routine with plenty of audience participation to create a highly memorable effect. As with your earlier books, I could go on and on about the different effects you've created, but have to let you know yet again how much fun I'm having with "Remote Tarot." For me, it's the perfect effect, as it can be done impromptu anywhere, and the participant gets a reading at the end.

I especially loved your observations on mentalism. They show just how much thought you've put into every aspect of your work. "Psychic Reality", in which you answer the question, "When did you discover you had this gift?", is a perfect example. I could list all of your articles, but "Psychic Reality", "Getting the Gigs", "The Pursuit of Believability", "Selling the Real Deal", "Pendulum Power", "Scripting", and "Real World Applications" should be read by everyone seriously interested in the art of mentalism.

Thanks again for letting me read your book. The right person could make a career using nothing but effects from Secrets. I hope you do really well with it. I know you're focusing on writing for the general public now, but hope you'll find time to write more for the trade.

I ordered on the 5th Nov, had a shipping notice on the 11th Nov, and the book has arrived this morning.
A preliminary browse through determines you will not be disappointed.

Sorry many of you have had delays from LULU, I had the same problem when I ordered my proof copy. I normally receive them within 5 working days but this time it took 11, there is also a delay with them paying royalties to their authors, so I think it is a problem that is across the board.
