Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there was a small village surrounded by lush green fields and mighty mountains. The villagers lived a simple and happy life, working together to sustain their community. However, there was one thing about their village that set it apart from any other - the presence of a magical artifact known as the Magic Bowl. The Magic Bowl was said to possess unimaginable powers. It was a small, intricately carved bowl made from a mysterious crystal-like substance found only in the heart of the mountains. Legend had it that whoever possessed the bowl could have their deepest desires granted by simply whispering them into the vessel.

NEW MAGIC WAND is the sixth song from Tyler, the Creator's fifth studio album Igor (2019). It is an energetic track that centers itself around urging the love interest (discussed throughout the album) not to leave the singer. The song opens with Jerrod Carmichael saying, "sometimes you gotta close a door to open a

For his 2020 Grammy performance, he performed a quick medley of EARFQUAKE with Charlie Wilson and Boyz II Men before starting the song with the aforementioned intro.

Legend had it that whoever possessed the bowl could have their deepest desires granted by simply whispering them into the vessel. As the story goes, the Magic Bowl was discovered by a humble farmer named Jonathan. One day, while tending to his cattle on the outskirts of the village, he stumbled upon a hidden cave.

This song finds Tyler, The Creator addressing a love interest who still has feelings for an ex-girlfriend.

My brother said I'm on the spectrum
Don't call me selfish, I hate sharin'
This 60-40 isn't workin'
I want a hundred of your time, you're mine

Tyler desperately wants to convince the person not to leave him. He goes to extreme lengths - even threatening to kill both his lover and his lover's former girlfriend.

"New Magic Wand" begins with a spoken word contribution from the standup comedian Jerrod Carmichael. It is one of five Igor tracks Carmichael appears on.

Santigold contributes background vocals. The Brooklyn songstress previously linked up with Tyler, The Creator's for his 2018 Christmas track "Lights On." That song can be found on the Music Inspired by Illumination & Dr. Seuss' The Grinch EP.

"New Magic Wand" incorporates elements of "Vsichni Praznj," a 1981 track by the Czech experimental group Siluetes 61.

This contains Tyler's favorite moment on one of his songs. He explained in a tweet the moment occurs at 1:25 with the "speaker at its highest," adding it's "purely based on feeling."

Tyler went on to say: "Haven't been able to articulate why. I've also came to the conclusion this is my favorite song I've made. It's so, Tyler: everything I've attempted in one, executed perfectly."

A team of Tyler lookalikes came out of the audience and joined the original on stage when he performed this at the Grammys in 2020, where Igor won for Best Rap Album. At the end of the set, Tyler made a grand exit, fall backward off the set and disappearing.

Some fans misattributed the "like magic, like magic, like magic wand" vocals towards the beginning of the track to A$AP Rocky, when in reality it was just pitched down Tyler vocals. Santigold appears on the song after being featured on the " [3]

Curiosity got the better of him, and he ventured inside, his heart filled with anticipation. It was there, amidst the darkness, that he found the captivating bowl, emitting a faint, ethereal glow. From that moment on, Jonathan's life was forever changed. As word spread of his newfound possession, villagers from all walks of life began to gather at his doorstep, seeking a chance to use the Magic Bowl for their own desires. Some wished for wealth and prosperity, while others yearned for love and happiness. Jonathan became the reluctant custodian of the artifact, bearing the weight of others' dreams and aspirations. In the beginning, Jonathan reveled in his newfound role, relishing the chance to bring joy to others through the magical powers of the bowl. The villagers hailed him as a hero, a bringer of miracles. However, as time went on, the burden of granting wishes became increasingly heavy. Jonathan soon realized that the Magic Bowl was not a source of limitless happiness; instead, it was a double-edged sword. The desires it fulfilled often came at a great cost, disrupting the delicate balance of life in the village. Those who obtained wealth grew greedy, pushing others into poverty. Love turned into obsession, tearing apart families and friendships, and happiness became fleeting and artificial. Jonathan began to question the true nature of the Magic Bowl. Was it a gift or a curse? He saw how the villagers became consumed by their desires, losing sight of what truly mattered - community, compassion, and harmony. He longed for a way to free himself and his fellow villagers from the enchanting but destructive power of the bowl. One fateful day, Jonathan made a courageous decision. He returned to the cave, where it all began, and gently placed the Magic Bowl back in its rightful resting place. He understood that true magic lies not in external possessions but in the human spirit, in the ability to love, forgive, and connect with one another. With the removal of the bowl, the village underwent a transformation. The villagers learned to embrace their simplicity and rediscover the joy of working together for the betterment of their community. The legend of the Magic Bowl lived on as a cautionary tale, a reminder that true magic comes from within, and that the pursuit of material desires can lead to destruction and loss. And so, the village thrived, not because of the Magic Bowl, but because of the magic that resided in the hearts of its people. From that day forward, they lived in harmony, cherishing the lessons learned from their encounter with the enigmatic artifact. The tale of the Magic Bowl teaches us that sometimes, our deepest desires can lead us astray. It reminds us of the importance of appreciating what we have and finding happiness in the simple things in life. And, ultimately, it shows us that the greatest magic of all is love, compassion, and the power of unity..
