There’s just something about a fairy tale retelling. As someone who loves to reread books and rewatch my favorite shows and movies, maybe it’s the comfort of reading something slightly familiar alongside the thrill of seeing it turned on its head. Maybe it’s just because I’m a sucker for seeing how people can reinvent and completely reshape the same story. (I do enjoy some good fanfiction, after all.) Regardless, I love them. And dark fairy tale retellings that really tap into the grotesqueness of the original stories passed down from mouth to mouth? Oh, yes, please. I will gobble those right up.

1. Samantha - 2/5 stars - I was really disappointed with the Make Magic Happen Tarte palette. The colors in the palette looked gorgeous online, but when I received it, I found that they were nowhere near as pigmented as I had hoped. The matte shades were particularly lacking in intensity and required multiple layers to build up any noticeable color. Additionally, the shimmers didn't have the same level of metallic shine that I was expecting. Overall, I found the palette underwhelming and not worth the price.
2. Michael - 1/5 stars - The Make Magic Happen Tarte palette was a complete letdown for me. The packaging was beautiful, but the quality of the eyeshadows was subpar. The colors lacked pigmentation and were difficult to blend. I also experienced a lot of fallout, which was frustrating. I tried using different brushes and primers, but it didn't make much of a difference. I ended up returning the palette because I just couldn't make it work for me. I wouldn't recommend this palette to anyone.
3. Emily - 2/5 stars - I had high hopes for the Make Magic Happen Tarte palette, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The color selection in the palette is beautiful, but the eyeshadows themselves were not great quality. The pigmentation was weak and the shadows were patchy and difficult to blend. I was also disappointed by the lack of longevity - the shadows seemed to fade and crease on my eyelids after just a few hours of wear. Overall, I was not impressed with this palette and wouldn't repurchase it.
