Catholic Funeral Rites
The Vigil:
This rite is celebrated by the Christian Community in the time following the death and before the funeral liturgy. It is a time when loved ones show their respect and greet the family and friends of the deceased. It is also the most ideal time to share the memories of the deceased through a eulogy or video tribute, usually held at the funeral home the day before the Funeral Mass. During the vigil, the Rosary is often recited for the deceased.
Funeral Mass:
This is the central liturgical celebration held with the deceased’s body present at church. Part of the Catholic belief is that those who follow the way of Jesus shall forever be in heaven, body and soul, in the presence of God. We believe in the bodily resurrection. Also, the Church honors the body because it has been the temple of the Holy Spirit. It was the body that was baptized, which began our relationship with God. Therefore, the Church says that the body should be present at the funeral rites. If cremation is selected, the Church prefers that the body be present at the Mass.
Rite of Committal:
This rite is the final act of our faith community in caring for the body of its deceased member. By our presence at this rite, we help the mourners face the end of one relationship with the deceased and the beginning of a new one based on prayerful remembrance, gratitude and the hope of resurrection and reunion. The celebration, whenever possible, takes place not in a cemetery chapel but at the open grave or place of interment. The act of committal expresses that the grave, once a sign of despair, is now, through Christ’s own death and Resurrection, a sign of hope and promise

Divine Mercy, in General
Divine Mercy gets to the heart of Sacred Scripture. In fact, as the Catechism of the Catholic Church says, "The Gospel is the revelation in Jesus Christ of God's mercy to sinners" (1849). Right there: That summarizes it. Divine Mercy is the Gospel. It's the good news. And so, it gets to the very center of our faith. Moreover, in the words of Pope Benedict XVI, "Divine Mercy is not a secondary devotion, but an integral dimension of Christian faith and prayer." Benedict even goes so far as to say, "[M]ercy is the central nucleus of the Gospel message."
Okay, so what is Divine Mercy? What is this thing that gets to the heart of Sacred Scripture and to the very center of our faith? To begin, mercy is "love's second name," as John Paul II said. It's a particular kind of love, a particular mode of love when it encounters suffering, poverty, brokenness, and sin. Divine Mercy is when God's love meets us and helps us in the midst of our suffering and sin. In fact, because this side of eternity we're all sinners and because suffering is our lot in life, God's love for us here always takes the form of mercy. It's always the Lord stepping out in compassion to help us poor, weak, and broken sinners. From our perspective, then, every good we receive is an expression Divine Mercy.

Furthermore, the staff seemed overwhelmed and unhelpful, adding to the overall negative experience. I regret spending my time and money on this event and would not attend again.
3. Mark - 2 stars - The Magic Memories Plymouth Meeting event fell short of my expectations. The event space was cramped, making it difficult to move around and enjoy the activities. The lines for popular attractions were insanely long, resulting in a lot of waiting and frustration. The event also lacked variety in terms of entertainment options, leaving me bored and unengaged. I was hoping for a memorable experience, but unfortunately, this event did not deliver.
4. Sarah - 1 star - I had high hopes for the Magic Memories Plymouth Meeting event, but it turned out to be a major disappointment. The activities were poorly organized, and there was a lack of clear instructions from the staff. The overall atmosphere was chaotic and stressful, making it difficult to enjoy the event. Additionally, the ticket prices were exorbitant, considering the lackluster experience. I would not recommend attending this event, as there are much better options available.
