Magic Island is a popular beach park on a manmade peninsula, located right next to the Ala Wai boat harbor and Ala Moana Beach Park. This unique park was originally set to be the site of yet another vacation resort, with construction of the island over reclaimed reef halting in the mid 1900s. The existing peninsula, which was supposed to be expanded into two more islands, was soon converted to a public park and was renamed 'Aina Moana (land from the sea) in 1972, though it is still locally known as Magic Island.

Every year for the Fourth of July, fireworks are shot off from Magic Island, drawing numerous visitors. Certain events and concerts are also occasionally hosted at the park. The beach itself is popular among tourists and locals, offering a sheltered lagoon that is perfect for swimming and playing as well as plenty of open green space for picnicking or exercising. The barrier that protects the small lagoon from ocean swell is great on calm days; however, high winds can cause larger waves to crash over the barrier. Swimmers should use proper judgment and avoid getting too close on rougher days. The adjacent Ala Moana Beach Park is still more popular, as the swimming area at Magic Island is quite rocky and less sandy. Still, proximity to Waikīkī and tourist resorts has made Magic Island a popular coastal destination.

Snorkeling and diving enthusiasts will be in awe of the diversity and abundance of marine creatures that call this lagoon their home. The magic island lagoon is also home to a plethora of rare and exotic plant and animal species. The dense forests surrounding the lagoon are a paradise for nature lovers, offering opportunities for hiking, bird-watching, and exploring the unique flora and fauna.

Reviews for "Magical Island Lagoons: Romance, Adventure, and Relaxation"

1. John - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with my visit to Magic Island Lagoon. The park was crowded, and the lines for the rides were extremely long, with little organization or management. The staff seemed overwhelmed and unhelpful. The attractions themselves were lackluster, with outdated and worn-out equipment. Overall, it felt like a money-grabbing operation rather than a quality entertainment venue. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone seeking a fun and enjoyable day out.
2. Emily - 1 star - Magic Island Lagoon was a complete waste of time and money. The park was in a state of disrepair, with broken and malfunctioning rides. It was evident that maintenance was not a priority here. The food options were limited and overpriced, and the cleanliness of the park was far from satisfactory. I left feeling disappointed and frustrated, and I would never consider returning or recommending this place to anyone. Save your money and find a better theme park experience elsewhere.
3. Michael - 2 stars - As an avid amusement park visitor, Magic Island Lagoon fell far short of my expectations. The park lacked a cohesive theme and felt like a mishmash of random rides and attractions. The staff appeared disinterested and unengaged, and the overall atmosphere was uninspiring. The park also lacked proper shade and seating areas, making it uncomfortable to spend a full day there. I was left unimpressed and unentertained, and I wouldn't visit again or recommend it to others seeking a memorable amusement park experience.
