The Louisiana State University (LSU) mascot is a live tiger, named Mike the Tiger. Since 1934, the university has had a live tiger on campus to serve as the symbol and representative of LSU athletics. Mike the Tiger symbolizes the strength, agility, and fierceness of the LSU Tigers. Mike the Tiger resides in a specially designed habitat, known as the Tiger Habitat, which provides him with a comfortable environment. The habitat includes a large grassy area, a waterfall, a pool for swimming, and a rock structure for climbing. The habitat is located near the football stadium, allowing fans to catch a glimpse of the majestic tiger on game days.
