What’s in the Box
This set comes with: five figures, five collectible pearls, two dolphins, fish, seahorses, coral, algae scoops, and lots of other accessories. You will need to add 3 AAA batteries for the dome piece.
Putting it Together
This set is recommended for ages 4+ and the younger crowd will need some help with assembly. Lucky for me, my 11 year old (and honestly my 6 year old isn’t that far behind) can put these intricate sets together entirely on their own.
My kids got to work with the basic assembly and within the hour, they had the entire set built and ready for playtime.
There were lots of exclamations coming from the kitchen over how fun and colorful the mermaid figures are. The dolphins were a huge hit!

Okay, this set is a LOT of fun! The mermaids and dolphins can all stand on their own. The pearls can be collected and dropped down the pearl track, all while the dome changes colors. The kids love it and the details are fantastic.

1. Mary - 2 stars - I have been a huge fan of the Learning Amulet series so far, but Book 9 was a huge disappointment. The plot felt disjointed and rushed, with events happening for no apparent reason. The character development was also lacking, with the main characters acting out of character and making decisions that made no sense. Overall, it just felt like the author was trying to push out another book in the series without putting in the effort to make it as enjoyable as the previous ones.
2. John - 1 star - As a long-time reader of the Learning Amulet series, I was eagerly awaiting Book 9, but it turned out to be a major letdown. The writing was incredibly repetitive, with the same phrases and descriptions being used over and over again. The dialogue was stilted and unrealistic, making it difficult to connect with the characters. The plot was also predictable and lacked any real surprises. It's a shame because I had high hopes for this book, but it just didn't live up to the standards set by the previous installments.
