In the world of A Darker Shade of Magic, there are four parallel versions of London: Grey London, Red London, White London, and Black London. Each of these cities has varying levels of magic, with Red London being the most vibrant and filled with magic, and Black London being overrun and destroyed by it. The main character, Kell, is a rare magician known as an Antari, who can travel between these different Londons. He works as an ambassador for Red London, carrying messages and trinkets between the different cities. However, Kell also has a more hidden shade of magic that sets him apart from other Antari. Kell possesses a powerful and dangerous ability: he can smuggle items from one London to another.

Reviews for "Invisible Threads: How Kell's Hidden Shade of Magic Ties it All Together"
1. Jane - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with "Kell with a more hidden shade of magic". I absolutely loved the original "A Darker Shade of Magic" but this sequel just fell flat for me. The plot felt disjointed and rushed, with too many random subplots that didn't contribute to the overall story. The character development was also lacking, leaving me uninvested in the fates of the protagonists. Overall, this book didn't live up to my expectations and I wouldn't recommend it to fans of the first book.
2. Mark - 2.5 stars - I found "Kell with a more hidden shade of magic" to be a letdown after reading the first installment. While the concept of multiple Londons and the magic system still intrigued me, the execution in this book wasn't as strong. The pacing was slow and it felt like nothing much happened until the final few chapters. Additionally, the romance between Kell and Lila felt forced and unnecessary, detracting from the main plot. Overall, I was underwhelmed by this book and it didn't captivate me like the original did.
3. Sarah - 3 stars - "Kell with a more hidden shade of magic" was an okay read for me. While I enjoyed revisiting the world of Red London and following the adventures of Kell, Lila, and the other characters, I felt that the story lacked depth compared to its predecessor. The plot felt predictable and there weren't as many high stakes moments to keep me on the edge of my seat. Although the writing was still elegant and the world-building was well done, it just didn't have the same impact as the first book. Overall, it was an average read that didn't quite live up to the hype for me.
