Following their rescheduled Goosemas performance at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on Saturday night, Goose played the first of a two-night run at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. last night. The band debuted a new song, “California Magic,” during the latter part of the first set.

The evening kicked off with a Mardi Gras greeting before the band offered a take on Sherman Clay & His Orchestra’s traditional “Liza Jane.” Next up, the band segued in a rendition of “Drive,” which lasted over 20 minutes. Fan-favorite “Travelers” came next, followed by “Doc Brown” and “The Old Man’s Boat.”

Before concluding the first set, Goose offered a live debut of bluesy “California Magic,” written by guitarist Rick Mitarotonda. The band finished set one with “Madhuvan” off 2021’s Shenanigans Nite Club.

The second set picked up with “Into the Myst,” which segued into a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish.” Goose performed an extended “Wysteria Lane” off the EP Night Lights, which featured similar vibes to the band’s original tune “Dripfield” before breaking into 2020’s “Your Ocean.”

The set finished with “Pancake,” which debuted on Jan. 27 in San Diego, Calif., before returning to a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish.” Goose returned to the stage for a take on “Doobie Song” for their encore. The band will conclude their two-night run tonight at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C.

After a stop at The Fillmore in Charlotte, N.C. on March 3, Goose will perform a two-night sold-out stand at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, Tenn. on March 4 and 5.
