You get thrown into a prison, then you try to escape, I believe there was a water dropping from the ceiling you gather it, there was a guard you make him laugh to escape if I remember correctly. store.steampowered.com Learn More [LINUX] [Early 2000s] Children's game with clown face

Platform: 90% sure it was Linux freeware

Genre: Children's/educational, early childhood

Year of release: Unsure, played it in early 00s

Art style: Pretty basic, not super aesthetic, looked very low budget/not made by a good game studio, mostly remember the clown

Notable characters: A really unfortunately creepy clown face, possibly looked like an amateur 3D model (sculpted a little weird?)

Notable gameplay mechanics: It was made up of little easy kids' quiz games about things like shapes and colors. Not sure if they were timed or if there was a counter for too many wrong answers or something.

Other details: Once a minigame ended, if you were successful, a smiling clown face would appear over top of the minigame for a few seconds. If you failed, the clown face would be frowning instead. It took up most of the screen. There may have been sound effects to accompany the happy and sad faces.

Estimated year of release: 90's

Reviews for "Unraveling the Origins of Faerie Folklore"

1. Rebecca - 2 stars
I found "Faeries and Magical Creatures" to be quite underwhelming. The plot was predictable and the characters lacked depth. It felt like a recycled version of every other fantasy book I have read. The writing style was also uninspiring and failed to capture my interest. I was expecting a magical and enchanting story, but sadly, this book fell short of my expectations.
2. Jonathan - 1 star
I am a fan of fantasy novels, but "Faeries and Magical Creatures" was a huge disappointment. The world-building was practically nonexistent, leaving me confused and detached from the story. The characters were one-dimensional, and their actions and motivations were unclear. The writing was bland and lacked descriptive language, making it difficult to visualize the magical elements. Overall, I found this book to be dull and unengaging.
3. Sarah - 2 stars
"Faeries and Magical Creatures" was a letdown for me. The story started out promising, but quickly became repetitive and predictable. The author missed an opportunity to delve deeper into the magical creatures, their origins, and their unique abilities. The dialogue felt forced, and the romantic subplot was cheesy and unrealistic. I was hoping for a more complex and immersive fantasy world, but unfortunately, this book fell flat.
4. Michael - 2 stars
I regret picking up "Faeries and Magical Creatures." The storyline lacked originality and failed to captivate my attention. The characters were flat and uninteresting, and their development felt rushed and shallow. Additionally, the pacing was inconsistent, with long periods of nothing happening and sudden bursts of action that were difficult to follow. The overall execution of this book was disappointing, and I would not recommend it to avid fantasy readers like myself.
5. Emma - 1 star
"Faeries and Magical Creatures" was a complete waste of time. The writing was amateurish and filled with grammatical errors, making it difficult to read. The plot was unoriginal and lacked any surprises or twists. The characters were forgettable and lacked depth, and their actions often made no sense. I had high hopes for this book, but it failed to deliver on every level. I would advise staying away from this poorly executed fantasy novel.
