The game feels pretty incomplete like there could be so many additions to make the game more replayable and fun.

Dead cells offers a variety of ways to play, like replaying a seed number, choosing specifically any weapon (not just RNG from a set of weapons), etc.

When is this game gonna be updated to be even half as good as dead cells?

Public Service announcement- this game is done and doesnt owe you anything. Also every game in the world could have "so many additions" Also doesnt mean they owe you anything either. Good day

Ok so does anyone who actually has useful input like the devs themselves want to chime in, instead of ^ this clown?

what this guy giving you is legit info. The game is Fully released not in Early access Meaning the devs can be done if they want. Any updates after EA is basically up to the devs if they want to or not (which some to most devs end up adding more things later on when they can)

Basically what Esty and Epica242 said is right, the game is fully released and we even popped an extra post-launch update in June with a surprise Dead Cells crossover. Since you're mentioning Dead Cells, I think it would be fair to remind you that the game is now 3 years old and had plenty of time to create all the updates you're referring to. Moreover, the Motion Twin team created a new studio to focus only on Dead Cells updates, and so far this is not in our plans haha

It doesn't mean that we won't patch a few bugs here and there, or even add more content or features in the future. But at the moment, we're taking a break from Curse of the Dead Gods to focus on the development of a new game.

We appreciate you guys' enthusiasm for Curse of the Dead Gods, and we're hoping to bring more things to the game, even if it is not our priority at the moment!

great so in 2.5 years youll update the game to let us start with weapons of our choosing and game modifiers and share seeds then?

since youre saying thats the reason dead cells offers basic ammenities to roguelites.

Weapon choosing. Sure. Lets give Lucy a sledge hammer. And Kevin a grimoire.
Do u not understand what a finished product means?

Yeah its a little disappointing.. I really thought they had something here.. Certainly something they could expand on.. Ill never understand why the few legitimately GOOD games, rarely ever get followups, or sequels.. And Im not someone who likes dlc, nor do I expect developers to endlessly support a feature complete product. Sequels, or expansions.. bring them on! This is one of the few games that deserve it.

right? not only that, its exceptionally barebones. its like they admitted defeat in getting aboslutely destroyed by far superior games like dead cells and hades, and prematurely released the game a year after covid because they gave up.

the game feels like a premature release, that they gave up on, getting dumpstered by better games during covid.

*basic* ♥♥♥♥ like eventually letting us choose our own runs, items, etc. why the heck do we need 4 altars? we can start a round, and immediately kill ourselves and have the 4 altars recycle to different items until we get an item we want to try that we just unlocked.

orrrrrrrrrrrrrr update the game and just let it pick the item we want in some specific mode based gameplay.

Its a $20 game. Im not sure how much content you were expecting. Ofcourse I want more, but for $20, you seem to expect way too much. I usually only buy games on sale. This one I actually bought full price, and feel like the price point is right where it should be. The game works, its complete, and theres no need for endless "support". For a company to sit and endlessly (and needlessly) update a game, for every whim of every person in the Steam forums, would bankrupt every single developer on the planet. This is a ridiculous expectation you seem to hold.

Curse of the dead gods dlc

Overall, the Curse of the Dead Gods DLC expands upon the already compelling gameplay of the base game, offering players new challenges, mechanics, and content to enjoy. Whether you are a seasoned player looking for a new challenge or a newcomer to the game, this DLC is sure to provide hours of excitement and replay value..

Reviews for "Mastering the New Bosses in Curse of the Dead Gods DLC"

1. John - 2/5 stars - I was really disappointed with the Curse of the Dead Gods DLC. The new content felt lackluster and uninteresting. The new weapons and abilities didn't add much to the gameplay and felt like they were thrown in just for the sake of having something new. The new levels were also uninspired and didn't offer anything different from the base game. Overall, I felt like the DLC was a wasted opportunity and didn't enhance my experience with the game.
2. Sarah - 1/5 stars - I regret buying the Curse of the Dead Gods DLC. The gameplay felt unbalanced and frustrating. The new enemies were incredibly difficult to defeat, and it felt like the developers didn't consider the player's skill level when designing them. I found myself dying over and over again, and it took all the fun out of the game for me. Additionally, the new environments were visually unappealing and boring to explore. I was really hoping for an exciting and immersive expansion, but unfortunately, this DLC fell short of my expectations.
3. Mark - 2/5 stars - The Curse of the Dead Gods DLC didn't live up to its hype for me. The new mechanics and features didn't feel well-integrated into the base game. It felt like a disjointed experience, rather than a seamless expansion. The pacing was off, and the difficulty curve was frustratingly steep. I found myself getting overwhelmed and frustrated, which took away from the enjoyment I had previously found in the game. Overall, I was left feeling disappointed and let down by this DLC.
