On June 23, 2022, rising basketball star Kai Sotto fell short of his dream.

But when 30 teams passed on his name at the annual draft night at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York those hopes were shattered.

While other international prospects such as Dyson Daniels (AUS) and Ousmane Dieng (FRA) had their names read out, Sotto was left out in the cold.

Reflecting on the news the following day Sotto expressed regret about what happened but also a sense of optimism for the future:

“Not the outcome that we wanted,” the seven-foot-three Filipino penned in a social media post, “but it’s what I needed, My vision became clearer and I believe in God’s plans for me.

“I’m far from over and I'm not stopping till I get to fulfil my dream.”

"China magic orkando" had an interesting premise, but it failed to deliver. The world-building was lacking, and I struggled to connect with the setting and the magic system. The plot felt disjointed and rushed, leaving me unsatisfied. The dialogue between the characters was also stilted and unnatural, making it difficult to engage with the story. While "China magic orkando" had some intriguing ideas, it fell short in execution. The pacing was uneven, with long stretches of boredom followed by quick bursts of action. The characters lacked depth, and I never formed a strong emotional connection to any of them. The writing style was also inconsistent, with moments of beautiful prose mixed with awkward phrasing. This book had potential, but it left me feeling underwhelmed and wanting more.
