17 Smell the Magic In a world filled with constant noise and distractions, it is important to remember to slow down and take notice of the small, magical moments that surround us every day. These moments may be fleeting, but they have the power to awaken our senses and bring us into the present moment. One of the most overlooked senses is our sense of smell. We often take it for granted, but it has the ability to transport us back in time, trigger memories, and evoke powerful emotions. From the comforting scent of freshly baked bread to the invigorating aroma of a field of flowers, our sense of smell has the power to connect us to the world around us in a unique and profound way. So often, we rush through life without truly experiencing the richness and depth that the world has to offer.

Have you tried any of the vault palettes? Did you love or hate the palette?

The colours in the Dark Magic and Bling Boss palette were right up my alley since I don t own anything like that in my collection and I loved her first palette with Morphe. So this is supposed to be the correct formula that s similar to the original Jaclyn Hill palette where the shadows are creamy, pigmented, and super blendable.

Jaclyn Hill Black Magic

So often, we rush through life without truly experiencing the richness and depth that the world has to offer. We become caught up in our thoughts and worries, forgetting to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us. But if we take a moment to pause, to truly smell the magic, we can awaken our senses and find joy in the simplest of things.

Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Dark Magic Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Jaclyn Hill released four new palettes in a vault filled of shadows that were not used in the original Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette. Each palette includes 10 eyeshadows each costing $15.00 with 0.56 oz of product. I did manage to get the entire vault, but I’m going to be reviewing each of the palettes separately. The first palette I’m reviewing is called Dark Magic and includes a midnight theme.

Now this collection was due to release back in June, but was pulled before release when they noticed inconsistency in the formula when the PR palettes were sent out to the beauty influencers/gurus. Then they went back through all of the palettes and corrected them. So this is supposed to be the correct formula that’s similar to the original Jaclyn Hill palette where the shadows are creamy, pigmented, and super blendable. Which is one of my favorite things about that palette along with it’s overall color palette that can create a variety of looks for any type of makeup lover.

This is probably the palette I was most interested in considering all of the green tones in the palette. You don’t see that in many other palettes so it makes this one even more unique as compared to the others. Not that I don’t find their color stories interesting too, but this one just had that extra appeal to me. Hence why it’s also the first I decided to play around with.

Here are the shade names and descriptions of the shadows included in the Dark Magic eyeshadow palette:

  • Poof (matte cream)
  • Power Cut (metallic silver)
  • Shhh (matte dusty taupe)
  • Trickery (sparkling emerald)
  • Diversion (shimmering gunmetal)
  • Potion (matte avocado green)
  • Busted (matte ocean blue)
  • Inside Job (matte dark jade)
  • Mojo (matte smoked hickory)
  • Temptress (glinting pitch black)

The only shadow that just feels a little out of place is the blue shade called Busted, not that I think it’s a bad shadow. It just doesn’t really fit in with the green tones, however there are tons of ways to add it into looks created out of this palette. I’ll probably end up mixing this palette with the others including the original palette when creating looks in the future. Since in theory these were created at the same time to go together, but just weren’t included since there could only be 35 shadows in total.

Oh and there’s a mirror in this palette unlike the original Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette, so that’s a massive plus for me. Plus I love the packaging of the silver on the front with a bunch of colored spots mixed in for each of the palettes to make them stand out from each other. The Dark Magic palette has a teal color mixed in with the silver, to give you a hint at which color story you’re reaching for.

Overall, I really enjoy this palette. I cannot speak to the first version of this palette that came out since I didn’t have it. But I noticed no issues with blending the shadows from this palette. I also had zero fall out on my face and minimal kick back in the pan on the matte shadows. Which is normal in comparison to other shadows from Morphe. If you are a massive fan of green tones, Dark Magic is the palette for you! What colors do you gravitate towards? Or which palette in this collection were you most excited about?
