Apple Jacks History

“Apple O’s” is the original name created in 1965 by William Thilly. 1971 “Apple Jacks” was created by advertisers and was described by Kellogg as a “crunchy, sweetened three-grain cereal with apple and cinnamon.” Originally Apple Jacks were all orange and O-shaped, however in 1998 green O-shaped pieces were introduced. In December 2003, due to a marketing promotion green O-shaped pieces turned blue and were shaped like carrots.

The summer of 2005 green O’s changed appearances yet again this time to look like figure-8’s for a short period of time. Recently Apple Jacks had introduced Apple Jacks Crashers that was inspired by the mid 2007 advertising when Bad Apple and CinnaMon were accidentally fused together.

Reviews for "The Role of Mascots in Building Brand Identity: Apple Jacks' Approach"

1. John - 2/5 stars
I was not a fan of the new Apple jacks mascot for next year. I found it to be quite bland and uninspiring. The character lacked any distinctive features or personality, making it forgettable and uninteresting. Additionally, I believe that the previous mascot had a much more playful and fun vibe, which appealed to both children and adults. Overall, I was disappointed with the new design and hope that they reconsider bringing back the old mascot.

The new Apple jacks mascot is a complete miss in my opinion. It looks like a generic cartoon character that you can find anywhere. I think the previous mascot had a unique and charming look that stood out from other cereal mascots. This new mascot lacks creativity and fails to capture the essence of the brand. It is a letdown and I am not looking forward to seeing it on my cereal box next year.

I was expecting something innovative and exciting for the new Apple jacks mascot, but I was sadly disappointed. The new design feels outdated and unoriginal. It feels like they didn't put much effort into creating a character that truly represents the brand. I think they missed an opportunity to create a memorable and engaging mascot that could have appealed to a wider audience. I hope they reconsider and come up with something better in the future.
