Does it make a difference if the idea is for the one spell to be cast all by itself on a turn or if the desire is to use another Bonus Action possibly a spell on the same turn.

Does it make a difference if the idea is for the one spell to be cast all by itself on a turn or if the desire is to use another Bonus Action (possibly a spell) on the same turn?
