Mark Hamill and girlfriend Amanda Wyss

It is stylishly directed, especially when it comes to the sex scenes the first encounter between Mark Hamill and Apollonia with the artwork in the background being used as erotic counterpoint to the flesh shots champagne being poured over a carved torso, Hamill kissing its breasts, she fondling its buttocks and so on being particularly cool. Black Magic Woman is so very much the exact kind of movie I live for that I do have to wonder if director Deryn Warren somehow got a sample of my DNA and made it specifically for me.

Black Magic Woman Reviews

A woman (Appolonia Kotero) takes revenge following an affair with a gallery owner (Mark Hamill). Diane: Amanda Wyss. Dr. Yantos: Victor Rivers. Directed by Deryn Warren.

Four chatty, middle-aged, middle-class women meet in an average-looking home in an average-looking suburb--and begin an occult ritual. Yes, they're witches, who prepare their bubbling cauldron in a microwave oven. But this clever opening sequence gives away virtually all the surprises in BLACK MAGIC WOMAN, making the erotic horror-thriller plot wholly futile. Stylish gallery owner Brad Travis (Mark Hamill) can't keep his eyes off the ladies despite the pleadings of longstanding girlfriend Diane Abbott (Amanda Wyss). "Selling art demands a certain sexuality," he explains. Naturally it's lust at first sight when Brad spies Cassandra Perry (Apollonia), a voluptuous beauty with an interest in lucky charms and talismans. Brad and Cassandra become lovers, but she departs furiously when Brad resists dumping Diane. Subsequently Brad suffers attacks from phantom snakes, bizarre acts of vandalism, murder among his friends, and a mysterious ailment that weakens his body and mind. His housekeeper deduces that he's been cursed. Did Cassandra put the hex on our hero? Of course not; she wasn't among the coven shown at the beginning, and director Deryn Warren clinches the matter by intercutting between Brad's brutal torment and one of the matronly witches warming up the gris gris. It doesn't take a crystal ball to figure out who she is and why she's doing the hoodoo that she does so well. Apollonia has more curves than a cloverleaf highway, but is relatively restrained in her sexpot role. In fact, despite lots of steamy lovemaking, the most graphic nude scenes in BLACK MAGIC WOMAN are those baring the voyeuristic artwork in Brad's gallery (sculptures by Sigmund de Tonancour, paintings by Georgess Yepes). STAR WARS veteran Mark Hamill can't do much with the shallow role of Brad, at least not until the curse infects him. He then invests a few moments with a genuinely disturbing edge as the dapper art dealer declines into sweaty psychosis. An examining doctor declares that Brad has some sort of malady supressing his immune system, but the potential for an AIDS metaphor is not realized. Perhaps the only really memorable aspect of the film is that the snakes were supplied by a Van Nuys outfit known as Slither City. BLACK MAGIC WOMAN materialized briefly in select theaters before the inevitable home-video release. (Violence, substance abuse, profanity, sexual situations, nudity.)

Humping their way through a soft focus, Fatal Attraction-flavored one-night stand, Brad is ready to return to his otherwise stable life. Afterward, he grows increasingly concerned that Cassandra has other ideas. Evidence of what he believes is stalking, rapidly garners a body count as shit goes from weird to weirder, with Brad seeking protective spells to stave off the black magic the film's titular woman has seemingly cast on him. But are things as straightforward as they seem?

Reviews for "Exploring the Music and Video Conversion Options in Xilisoft iPhone Magic"

1. Sarah - 1/5 - I was really disappointed with the Xilisofg iPhone magic. Firstly, the battery life was extremely poor. I would charge it fully overnight and within a few hours of regular usage, the battery would be almost drained. This was a major inconvenience for me as I rely on my phone throughout the day. Additionally, the camera quality was subpar. The pictures I took were often blurry and lacked the sharpness and clarity that I expected from a new phone. Overall, I would not recommend the Xilisofg iPhone magic.
2. James - 2/5 - The Xilisofg iPhone magic looked promising with its sleek design and advanced features, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. One major issue I encountered was frequent software glitches. The phone would freeze or restart unexpectedly, making it difficult for me to complete even the simplest tasks. I also found the user interface to be confusing and not as intuitive as other smartphones on the market. Additionally, the touch screen was not as responsive as I would have liked, often requiring multiple attempts to register my touch. Overall, the Xilisofg iPhone magic did not live up to the hype for me.
3. Emma - 2.5/5 - While the Xilisofg iPhone magic had some impressive features, it had a few major drawbacks. Firstly, the phone had a tendency to overheat, especially when I used it for extended periods of time or when running multiple apps simultaneously. This not only made it uncomfortable to hold but also raised concerns about the overall durability of the device. Secondly, the sound quality during calls was not great. I often struggled to hear the other person clearly, and they frequently complained that my voice sounded muffled or distant. These issues significantly impacted my overall satisfaction with the Xilisofg iPhone magic.
