Witch Totems: A Guide to their Symbolic Meanings

By admin

A witch totem is a symbolic object, often associated with witchcraft or paganism, that is used to represent spiritual or magical energies. The word "totem" originates from the Ojibwe language and refers to an animal, plant, or object that is believed to have spiritual significance and serves as a guardian or guide. In witchcraft, a totem can take various forms, such as an animal figurine, a piece of jewelry, or even a natural object like a feather or stone. These totems are often chosen intuitively or based on personal connection to the energy or traits of a particular animal or object. The meaning of a witch totem can vary for each individual, as it is often a deeply personal and unique symbol. However, there are some common interpretations associated with certain animals or objects.

Series / Magic School

Lee Nara, a university student studying to become a public servant. J, a popular magician who's been searching for his lost brother. Jun, a person who chooses to live like the poor despite a resident doctor at a hospital. Seong, a physicist who displays the scientific attitude and believes that everything is explained by science. The four of them gather at Magic School, headed by Master Han, with different reasons for learning magic.

Magic School (Korean: 마술학교) is a 2017 Korean web drama series starring GOT7’s Jinyoung, Yoon Park,2PM’s Nichkhun, and Kang Yoon Je. The series is JTBC’s fourth webdrama and ran for 16 episodes.

However, there are some common interpretations associated with certain animals or objects. For example, a totem in the form of a black cat may be associated with luck, intuition, and protection. Cats have long been regarded as familiars or spiritual companions of witches in folklore and mythology.

Magic School contains examples of:

  • The Ace: J is one of the greatest, if not the best, magicians around the world.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Nara confesses to Woori and the latter stays in Korea to produce another film. Seong stays in Korea to be with Yi Seul, who passed her dance auditions. J doesn’t attempt the water-escape magic, and is ridiculed by people as a result, but he seems to have accepted K’s death. Jong Man is visited by a fan of his work, while Master Han stays in Korea with his daughter. But Jun doesn’t get to perform his magic show for Mirae because of her sudden death, and leaves behind his plans to go to Africa to continue working in the hospital (but he continues to do volunteer work and is implied to be given a higher position than resident doctor).
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Nara, who wanted to confess to Woori, ended up telling her good luck on studies abroad .
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Nara has a crush on his childhood friend, Woori. They end up together at the end of the series.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Nara, when he saw Woori with another guy, who turns out to be her colleague.
  • Cool Big Bro: K was this to J. J himself eventually becomes one to Jun.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Master Han’s wife died when he was doing research on magic, and was already dead the moment he arrived in Korea. As a result, Yi Seul was forced into studying magic despite the fact that she wants to learn dance.
    • Jun was born in Korea, but was adopted by an American family because his family was too poor. He eventually comes to Korea to visit his biological family, but when he arrives, he finds out that his mother was already dead.
    • Nara’s father doesn’t approve of him doing anything else rather than studying and aiming to become a public servant.
    • Master Han forced Yi Seul to focus only on magic, which made her hide her desire to dance.
    • Nara thought that the reason his father wanted him to become a public servant is because it was a family legacy. Turns out his father and grandfather did not do anything to participate in political events.
    • This is the reason why Master Han wanted Yi Seul to learn magic.
    • J, like his brother K, becomes one of the world’s greatest magicians, becomes Master Han’s student and attempts doing the water-escape magic (but unlike K, J decides not to do it).
    • Nara becomes Jong Man’s assistant in a few of their magic shows, while J becomes Jun’s assistant for his magic show for Mirae.
    • In a news report, it’s shown that J’s name is actually spelled “Jay”, while K’s name could be interpreted as “Kay” or “Kei” (but it’s not shown in the series).
    • Yi Seul and I Seul. There’s actually no “yi” syllable in Korea, but it’s just an alternate spelling.

    Witch totem meaning

A raven or crow totem can represent wisdom, intuition, and mystery. These birds are frequently associated with witches and are believed to carry messages from the spirit realm. A totem in the shape of a moon may symbolize femininity, intuition, and the cyclical nature of life. The moon is closely tied to witchcraft and is often associated with the divine feminine and the power of the subconscious mind. Different herbs or crystals can also serve as totems in witchcraft. For example, a totem made of rosemary may be associated with protection, purification, and mental clarity. Clear quartz, on the other hand, is often selected as a totem for amplifying intentions, enhancing psychic abilities, and spiritual growth. Ultimately, the meaning of a witch totem is subjective and can be deeply personal to the individual using it. It can serve as a reminder of one's spiritual journey, a source of inspiration, or a way to connect with specific energies and intentions..

Reviews for "Unlocking Inner Wisdom: The Meaning of Witch Totems"

    - John Smith - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with "Witch totem meaning". The book promised to delve into the deep meanings behind different witch totems, but instead, it provided shallow and cliché interpretations. It felt like the author just skimmed the surface and didn't put much effort into the research. I was expecting a much more insightful and thought-provoking read, but unfortunately, this book fell short of my expectations.
    - Sarah Johnson - 1 star - I regret spending money on "Witch totem meaning". The book was poorly written and lacked any substance. The author seemed to repeat the same generic information over and over again without offering any real insights or unique perspectives. I found the content to be incredibly repetitive and didn't gain anything new or valuable from reading it. I would not recommend this book to anyone interested in exploring the meaning behind witch totems.
    - Robert Thompson - 2 stars - "Witch totem meaning" was a letdown for me. The descriptions of the different witch totems were brief and shallow, and I didn't find any of the interpretations to be particularly enlightening. I was expecting a more in-depth exploration of the symbolism and significance of these totems, but the book only scratched the surface. The lack of depth and substance made it difficult for me to fully engage with the content, and I ended up feeling unsatisfied with my reading experience.
    - Jessica Collins - 1 star - I found "Witch totem meaning" to be a complete waste of time. The book lacked any originality and simply regurgitated common knowledge about witch totems. The writing style was dull and uninspiring, making it difficult for me to maintain interest in the subject matter. Overall, I was highly disappointed with this book and would not recommend it to anyone seeking a deep and insightful exploration of witch totems.
