Once upon a time, on a holy night, a witch set out on a mystical journey. It was a night of great significance, filled with magic and enchantment. The witch, known for her dark and mysterious powers, emerged from the shadows and embarked on her quest. With her broomstick in hand and her black cloak billowing in the wind, the witch navigated through the moonlit forest. The ancient trees whispered their secrets as she floated past them, their branches stretching out like fingers reaching for her essence. As the witch moved deeper into the forest, a sense of anticipation hung in the air.

Some like to decorate their altar with seasonal colors and symbols or create an Ancestral Altar commemorating the memories of deceased family and friends. My own mother was super-relaxed and ready to push on Halloween because her own father, known as the Warlock, was also born on Halloween, 56 years prior to my appearance.

The Switch Witch
The Switch Witch (some call her the Candy Fairy) is a witch that arrives on Halloween night, after your children have gone to sleep, and takes all the candy your children choose to leave out for her.
In exchange for the candy she will leave inspiring toys and dress-ups for your children to be surprised and delighted by them in the morning!
You may make up the story of the Switch Witch any way you like, but make sure you tell your children about the Switch Witch before you go trick-or-treating. Ideally, begin by telling your children the story a few weeks in advance, so they get used to the new tradition. Be creative – come up with a fun, elaborate story for your children. Make it your tradition!
In the weeks prior to Halloween, you may ask your children what they would like from the Switch Witch. This will give you an idea of what they're wishing for! After all, you want to give them something they will love more than candy.
Once your children are finished trick-or-treating, have them pick out their favorite candy and leave the rest out for the Switch Witch. Remind them that the more candy they give away, the better the gift they will get.
Leave the candy in a special place at home, near a window or make a witchy nook. In our family, we would leave our candy in the Halloween baskets, on the front porch, so the Switch Witch can see the candy.
When your children go to sleep, switch the candy for the toys or dress-ups!Make sure you hide the candy so your children don’t find it or even better, give it away!

The other beings welcomed her with open arms, unaware of her true identity. For hours, the witch danced and laughed with the beings, enjoying the freedom and joy that the holy night brought. It was a night of revelry and connection, a time when the supernatural and mortal worlds coexisted harmoniously. As the clock struck midnight, the festivities came to an end. The beings bid farewell to one another, knowing that they would have to wait another year for this night of magic to return. With a final wave goodbye, the witch returned to her original form and faded back into the shadows. The holy night had brought the witch joy and a sense of belonging. She carried the memories of the night with her, knowing that she would forever cherish this enchanted experience. From that day forward, the witch looked forward to the holy night each year, eager to once again join the celebration and bask in the magic that surrounded her..
