I love the imagery in Turkish horror - cursed talismans hidden around the house, demons sneering beneath sheer veils and all the gooey animal guts - but I have to believe that shit is at least a little bit real. Being confined to the conventions of the genre reined in his more ostentatious impulses and grounded the weird pigs blood chicken bones stuff in real life situations.
The director masterfully creates a dark and eerie atmosphere that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats throughout the film. The use of sound effects and visual effects adds to the overall spooky ambiance. One of the standout elements of the movie is the performance of the lead actress, Elcin Atamgüc.
