I honestly don t have a problem with repackaging a portion of these seasonal scents, but if we re going to repackage, why not dip into the vault and find a scent from 10-15 years ago. Champagne toast, forever red, golden sunflower,sweater weather, and black cherry merlot to name a few have been subjected to this in my opinion lazy, outdated packaging.

I’ve been a customer since I was a young child (mid to late 90’s). I’ve seen the changes bath and body works has gone through over the past 2 decades. However these past couple years have been especially lack luster.
Main things I’ve noticed- they’ve completely stopped trying when it comes to creative packaging. They’ve significantly watered down their fragrances and they recycle recent scents often.
They always resort to that “diamond plate/faceted” pattern packaging for seasonal scents-Y’all know what I’m talking about. Champagne toast, forever red, golden sunflower,sweater weather, and black cherry merlot to name a few have been subjected to this (in my opinion) lazy, outdated packaging. But the diamond plated/faceted packaging is only a small issue compared to how many recent scents they’ve repackaged. Every season they come out with their 3-4 “new” seasonal fragrances. We’re lucky if any of them are in fact “new” fragrances. I almost always recognize the “new” seasonal fragrances from the season and/or year before. I.e.- violets sky, candied violet sorbet, and autumn violets are all quite literally the same scent, and were released in the same year. I find this insane that other people didn’t recognize this/weren’t pissed over this..again, these scents were all released in the same year..lol.
I don’t think I really have to touch base on how watered down the body fragrances are now a days…we all noticed that a while ago…

They have access to a plethora of different unique scents from the past that they could repackage.. I’m apart of a few bath and body works forums, and the sheer amount of OG b&bw peeps I see hoping, wishing and requesting b&bw to bring back a discontinued 5-15 year old scent is off the charts. From what I’ve seen b&bw is well aware of the demand for older scents but instead, they choose to repackage very recent scents from the previous season… considering b&bw is only a couple decades old company, I truly don’t understand how this is a good Business move for the long run, or how they think people won’t eventually all catch on and ditch the brand all together. It’s like they’re doing even less than the bare minimum and cutting all corners. Makes me really sad to see a once unique, quality brand become compromised by corporate greed..
