The Shades of Magic books, written by V.E. Schwab, are a series of fantasy novels set in multiple parallel versions of London. The series consists of three books: A Darker Shade of Magic, A Gathering of Shadows, and A Conjuring of Light. In these books, the author introduces readers to the concept of multiple Londons, each with its own level of magical power. Reviews for "The Magic Battles in the Shades of Magic Series"

1. Jane Doe - 2 stars - I really wanted to love "The Shades of Magic" books, but unfortunately, they fell flat for me. The world-building was interesting, but the characters felt one-dimensional and lacked depth. Kell, the main protagonist, had potential but never seemed to reach it. The pacing of the story was also quite slow, and I found myself losing interest at times. Overall, I was left feeling disappointed and underwhelmed by this popular series.
2. John Smith - 1 star - I'm sorry, but I just couldn't understand the hype around "The Shades of Magic" books. The concept of multiple Londons seemed intriguing, but the execution was lackluster. The writing style felt bland and emotionless, making it difficult for me to connect with the characters. The plot itself was predictable and lacked surprises. I struggled to find any redeeming qualities in this series and would not recommend it to others.
3. Emily Johnson - 2 stars - I had high hopes for "The Shades of Magic" books, but I found them to be highly overrated. The world-building was intricate, but I felt that it overshadowed the actual plot and character development. The descriptions of the different Londons were tedious and dragged on, making the story feel slow and cumbersome. The character relationships and interactions were also quite shallow, and I found it hard to become emotionally invested. Overall, I was left feeling unsatisfied and unimpressed with this series.
