The Magic Flute 2022: An Opera for the Modern Audience

By admin

The Magic Flute is an opera composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1791. It tells the story of a prince named Tamino who is sent on a quest to rescue a princess named Pamina from the evil queen. Along the way, Tamino is aided by a magical flute and three spirits. The opera is known for its beautiful music and complex characters. In 2022, a new production of The Magic Flute is set to premiere, featuring a talented cast of performers. The lead role of Tamino will be played by a rising star tenor, known for his powerful voice and dramatic presence onstage.

Tamino learns that it is not Sarastro who is evil but the Queen of the Night and that Pamina was only being held to keep her hidden from her mother. Sarastro gives Tamino a new quest; he must now undergo a series of trials to prove himself worthy of Pamina’s love.

At the moment of their success, the Queen of the Night arrives with her servants to storm the temple and destroy it, but Sarastro appears and defeats them, casting them out. Afterwards, they give Tamino a portrait of the Queen s daughter, Pamina, and he falls instantly in love, vowing to rescue her from the evil Sarastro, priest of the sun, in whose faraway temple she has been imprisoned.
