Breaking the Spell: The Quest to Lift the Black Knights' Curse

By admin

The Black Knight's Curse is a classic tale of tragedy and despair. It tells the story of a once noble knight who, after being cursed by a sorcerer, is transformed into a black knight. The curse condemns him to wander the land, forever bound to darkness and suffering. The curse brings with it not only a physical transformation but also a deep emotional burden. The knight is plagued by loneliness and despair, as he is shunned by the society he once belonged to. His loved ones are unable to recognize him, and he is left to wander aimlessly, a mere shadow of his former self.

The strategy shouldn’t be too difficult, and you can probably take out the Lost Knight in a single turn, making the battle easier. You will get some treasure after the battle ends.

Fortunately, as long as you can distract most of the Lost, the scouting party will be able to hold its own long enough for your Heroes to take down the enemies. Head into the house north of the Campfire to find an old woman with a yellow exclamation mark above her head, as well as a glowing box at the left side of the house.

Black Knight and Dread Knight

Black and Dread Knights are level 6 creatures of Necropolis town. They are recruited from the Hall of Darkness.

"Knights have a 20% chance of cursing opponents they strike. Cursed creatures inflict only minimum damage in their own attacks. Dread knights' attacks also have a 20% chance of inflicting double damage death blows." RoE manual

Special ability curse [ edit ]

Black and Dread Knights' curse ability behaves slightly different from the Curse spell as it is not considered fire school spell. This is due to a fact that the ability is not affected by Fiery Fields terrain, and creatures with immunity to fire magic (e.g. Fire Elementals) are not affected by it. However, the ability is affected by the Magic Plains.

Special ability death blow [ edit ]

Dread Knights' special ability death blow gives them 20% chance of dealing double base damage when attacking a creature stack. The game information states that Dread Knights would deal double damage when the death blow occurs, but that is not technically correct as it only doubles the base damage. In other words, bonuses from Offense, Luck or attack-defense difference are not doubled. See damage calculation for more specific information about the matter.

Heroes with a specialty [ edit ]
  • Tamika the Death Knight has black knights as a specialty, which increases the Attack and Defense skills of any Black Knights or Dread Knights for each level attained after 6th level, and gives them a speed bonus of 1.
  • Lord Haart the Death Knight increases the Attack and Defense skills of any Black Knights or Dread Knights +5 and damage +10.

Wymond and his forces are decent fighters, and will be able to fight off some Lost enemies. Assisting him from the rear and taking out a Lost Knight will significantly increase Wymond’s chances of survival. Being able to hit the Lost from behind will give you a great advantage and draw some of them towards you, easing the pressure on your allies.

Legends about his dark powers and his thirst for revenge spread among the townsfolk, further alienating the knight from society. Despite his tragic circumstances, the black knight possesses a glimmer of hope deep within his heart. He longs to break free from the curse and reunite with his loved ones. He embarks on a quest to find the sorcerer who cursed him, hoping to plead for mercy and find a way to lift the curse. Throughout his journey, the black knight faces countless obstacles and battles unimaginable forces of evil. He encounters treacherous monsters, wicked sorcerers, and the constant temptation to give in to despair. However, he remains determined and steadfast, fueled by his unwavering desire to break free from the curse that binds him. In the end, the black knight's unwavering determination pays off. He confronts the sorcerer and, after a fierce battle, manages to convince him to remove the curse. The knight is finally free from his curse and is transformed back into his original form.
