Arcane Ascension is the story of Corin Cadence, a young man who enters the Serpent Spire --- a colossal tower filled with monsters, traps, and treasures --- to find clues to the fate of his brother, Tristan, who disappeared into the tower five years earlier.
The series is a mixture of dungeon crawling within the Serpent Spire and other locales and magical academy content as Corin learns about the functionality of attunements, magical marks that are granted for undertaking challenges called Judgments within the spire and other spires throughout the continent. I'm currently celebrating the launch of my latest book, The Silence of Unworthy Gods , the most recent book in the Arcane Ascension series. As a part of that celebration, I've put up the first three books for free on Kindle for five days. This is active now on the US Kindle store - I'm not sure about other regions.

Arcane Ascension is the story of Corin Cadence, a young man who enters the Serpent Spire --- a colossal tower filled with monsters, traps, and treasures --- to find clues to the fate of his brother, Tristan, who disappeared into the tower five years earlier.
The series is a mixture of dungeon crawling within the Serpent Spire (and other locales) and magical academy content as Corin learns about the functionality of attunements, magical marks that are granted for undertaking challenges called Judgments within the spire (and other spires throughout the continent).
This is a very magic system heavy story, so people who aren't interested in hard magic should probably flee immediately. It's also a heavily anime and JRPG inspired setting, so you'll see clear inspiration from things like Final Fantasy, SaGa, Lufia, Trails, Hunter x Hunter, and Ys -- if you don't enjoy that kind of content, you'll probably want to pass, too.
Subgenre wise, this is a progression fantasy, meaning that it has a strong narrative focus on training, learning, and growing stronger in quantifiable ways. (More on that subgenre can be found here , if you're new to the concept and curious.) Notably, it's slower paced than many progression fantasy series, with more of a focus on exploring the world and the magic system. If you're looking for an ultra-quick weak-to-strong arc, this isn't that, either --- the main character works hard for everything he gets, and it's slow and incremental progress. He earns some advantages, but this isn't the type of story where you're following a chosen one that hits the maximum level of power in the first few books. It's a slow burn, and Corin has a lot to learn.
Notably, Book 4 is not the last book in this series - there's more coming. This is also set in the same universe as my War of Broken Mirrors books, Weapons & Wielders books, and some other upcoming content --- but knowledge of those other series is not required to read this one. (This is, in fact, the most common starting point for my books.)
If you're a fan of detailed magic, analytical protagonists, and JRPG-style settings, this is a great chance to take a look while the early books are free. And if you do, I hope you enjoy the series!

The prince had heard tales of the sexy witch and felt a strong desire to meet her. He journeyed to the village and found himself sitting by the brook, patiently waiting for Seraphina to appear. When Seraphina arrived at the brook, she felt a powerful energy surrounding her. Looking into the prince's eyes, she recognized a kindred spirit. They spent hours conversing, sharing stories, and laughing together. The prince was captivated by Seraphina's beauty and charm, but more importantly, he was drawn to her compassionate soul. Their connection grew stronger with each passing day, and soon their love for one another blossomed. Seraphina and the prince spent their days exploring the village, using her magic to bring joy and happiness to those they encountered. Seraphina's reputation as a sexy witch may have drawn the prince to her, but it was her inner beauty and kind heart that kept him by her side. Together, they vowed to use their powers for good and make the world a better place. 1. John - 1/5 - I was expecting a thrilling Halloween movie with witches and magic, but "Sexy witch on brook" was a disappointing and shallow film. The plot was weak and poorly executed, with predictable twists and turns. The characters lacked depth and the acting was subpar. The title of the movie is misleading as there was nothing sexy or intriguing about the storyline or the witches. Overall, this film failed to deliver any entertainment value or meaningful story.
2. Sarah - 2/5 - I have to admit, I wasn't expecting much from "Sexy witch on brook" but still decided to give it a chance. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to even my low expectations. The movie felt rushed and disjointed, leaving me confused and unengaged throughout. The attempts at humor fell flat, and the supernatural elements of the story were poorly explained. The one redeeming factor was the visually appealing cinematography, but that alone couldn't salvage the overall poor quality of this film.

Additionally, the performances of the actors were lackluster, making it difficult to connect with any of the characters. The title of the movie was misleading, as there was nothing sexy or captivating about the witches portrayed. Overall, this film was a disappointment and I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on it.
