So, Trap Team was pretty much business as usual, running exactly the same as previous games, leaving you to chose a Skylander you wanted to be, placing them on the portal and as if by magic, they appeared on the screen, in the game.
We have played pretty much every Skylander game ever released on the Xbox One, Wii or Wii U, and even though I had to buy the games each time, luckily the figures were cross-compatible, apart from a few that were exclusive to the Nintendo platforms. It has to be said that this was a very good effect, and as my son was four years old at the time, he genuinely believed that the baddies lived in the trap.

With the release of Activision's fourth installment of Skylanders, Trap Team delivers new characters as well as new elements. That's right, two new elements! Light and Dark are now part of the new 10 elemental power group, which already included Air, Water, Life, Fire, Death, Land, Magic and Tech elements. The new elements must be bought separately, however.
The newest and most unique part of Skylanders: Trap Team is the traps, which allow you to play as Kaos or any of the other villains. With the traps, you capture villains, and can make them fight for good. There is also a new portal, called the Traptanium Portal, exclusively for this game. The portal can be used for the previous three games.
Kids will love this new edition to their Skylander collection.

I got this game on Xbox One. I do have fun playing levels and defeating and playing as villains. It is a cool effect to put Skylanders on a real life portal to bring them to life in the game. Same goes for Swap force, Giants, and Spyro's adventure. I don't have the other 3 Skylanders games, but I think Swap force sounds really awesome. But I just can't really bring myself to spend another jackpot on another starter pack. Here are some pros and cons for the game.
Pros: Good gameplay. The levels may be a little long, but I do have fun.
Good effect. I like bringing skylanders to life on the portal. Its a very unique effect.
Being able to play as villains. You can use these elemental traps to put on the portal to play as villains, including Kaos. Plus, villains are hilarious because they are so lame.
The storyline is long. There should've been more action, less talking.
Money. Now everybody wants other Skylanders after getting the starter pack. And also you need to buy more traps if you all want more villains.
Overall, the games a good one. But try not to buy too many skylanders. The starter pack includes 2 skylanders and 2 traps. Trap team gets a 7.5/10 from me. Hope I can get Skylanders 5 in the future!
