Andrea Stephens ‘18 Recruiting Profile

Having played softball all of my life, I realized after coming to my current school that I would want nothing more than to be apart of a softball family again. I miss the team unity, the competition and the sense of belonging. I had a very successful high school career. My sophomore year included a Wisconsin State Championship. Junior year I was voted 2nd team all-conference utility player with a .319 average and a .426 on-base percentage. And my senior year I had a .400 batting average with a .519 on-base percentage and was voted 1st team all conference Infield playing mostly second base as that is my main position. I continued my softball career my first year of college but decided to transfer due to personal reasons. Now, being at a large D1 school, and not playing softball I know I want change. The drive to play again and wanting to be apart of a team with great culture has been building up inside me. I am looking to not only compete, but enjoy the remainder of college with a great group of girls, playing the sport I love.

Not only do I strive to excel on the field, but I push myself in the classroom as well. I currently have a 3.83 GPA at GCU after obtaining a cumulative GPA of 3.4 at my previous university. As well as being recognized as a scholar athlete all 4 years of my high school softball and tennis seasons. I will work hard to continue to uphold these standards of great expectations in the classroom in years to come as academics have always been important to myself and my opportunity to compete athletically.

I want to find a school that is the best fit for me academically as I am looking to major in Accounting and as well as the interest in minoring in Mathematics and Criminal Justice. With growing interests with more experiences I go through, I would like a school with versatility in their offered programs. It is very important that I find a school that will help create a second family for the remainder of my academic and athletic careers.
