Snapchat has gotten a lot of success from its lenses because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up allowing users to interact with each other in extremely entertaining as well as engaging ways. With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that the Lens Studio has created a brand new lens that is taking the platform by storm because of its ability to turn a real time image feed into a deepfake style mimicry of the person lip syncing a song.
This new lens that has been released by Snapchat’s AR division is being called Magic Karaoke, and it is most definitely going to result in a large number of memes being created for a wide range of reasons. All you need to do is take a brief video of yourself and run it through the lens with a song and the lens would then sync the movement of your lips to the song! You can also do this in real time which is one of the more impressive aspects of the tech from a technical perspective although it should be noted that lip syncing to a song yourself in real time is not all that difficult so the practical applications of this type of usage are a little limited.
