The Curse of Huckt Alkce is a mysterious and ancient curse that is said to bring misfortune and despair to those who encounter it. It is believed to have originated in a small village named Huckt Alkce, which has since been lost to time. According to legend, the curse was unleashed upon the village by a group of witches who sought vengeance for the persecution they had faced. It is said that the witches performed a dark ritual that called upon dark forces and unleashed a powerful curse upon the village and its inhabitants. The curse is said to bring about various forms of misfortune, including sickness, death, and even madness. Those who are afflicted by the curse are said to suffer from a series of increasingly difficult and dangerous events.

The tree house lands in a lush jungle, and two monkeys appear on the windowsill. Annie names them Kah and Ko, after the sounds they make. Kah and Ko lead Jack, Annie and Teddy through the forest. Jack reminds Annie that they must be cautious.
