Now I'll tell you women what for you to do. You go and dig about a peck of sweet taters and pick out the biggest ones and bake several good and brown; and you go and get me about a half gallon of sweet milk about a day old, with all the cream still on it. And after dark a while HI go and look around a while and find out the way they come, and I'll waylay them; and I believe I can knock some of their 'trotters' from under them. Now," he continued, "a witch loves sweet milk and baked sweet taters better than anything else. You see I'll place the milk and taters near their road and I'll be behind something. And when she comes by and begins to eat the milk and taters, if she is not careful, G? get her. And witches follow a leader, like anything else, and I'm going to try and get the old leader."
