Finally, you may have noticed that the YouTube user who posted the orangutan video, Dan Zaleski, entitled it ‘Monkey sees a magic trick’. I sent the link to my daughter, who is studying Zoology, and she immediately replied ‘Monkey!’ Many of the commenters under the video have also complained that the orangutan is an ape, not a monkey, some of them not so nuanced (YouTube comments are not noted for their subtlety).
In fact, there’s a pedantic argument to be made on the basis of nested taxonomy that apes are indeed monkeys (see here and here). Whatever the pedantry (and I would not call an ape a monkey), the correct term would surely have been ape, or even better, orangutan. That’s what was written on the poor animal’s cage.

I found the Magic Seaweed app for Juno Beach to be extremely unreliable and inaccurate. The surf forecasts were often completely off, leading me to waste time and effort driving to the beach only to find flat conditions. The tide charts were also inconsistent and not reflective of the actual tides on the day. I ended up using other surf forecast apps that provided much more accurate and reliable information. I do not recommend relying on Magic Seaweed for surf forecast purposes.

Although the Magic Seaweed Juno Beach app provides general information about the surf conditions, the accuracy is questionable. I have found multiple occasions where the reported wave heights and conditions did not match what I experienced at the beach. Additionally, the app can be slow to update, making it difficult to plan my surf sessions in advance. I have since switched to other surf forecasting apps that provide more accurate data and real-time updates. Disappointed with Magic Seaweed's reliability.
