We want everyone to come and experience this first-of-its-kind experience and maybe realize what you thought was wicked or diabolical, is actually misunderstood and quite wonderful.”

All Things Wicked & Wonderful This Fall at South Coast Botanic Garden

First-ever Spider Pavilion, new plantings, a Witch Hunt and more!

September 18, 2022

South Coast Botanic Garden is going to the darkside this fall - literally and figuratively. ‘All Things Wicked & Wonderful’ kicks off October 1 with the opening of the Garden’s brand-new Spider Pavilion, new plantings in a Diabolical and Misunderstood Garden Graveyard and a Witch Hunt.

The Garden’s new Spider Pavilion will be open through November 30 and will feature a Widow Window for guests to learn the differences between black and brown widows, at least 200 live spiders inside the pavilion, a number of tarantula terrariums, live guides inside the pavilion providing fun facts and a printed guide as well. Confirmed species so far include the Golden silk orb-weaver, European garden spider, Brazilian white knee tarantula, gooty sapphire tarantula, antilles pinktoe tarantula, brown widow and the Western black widow.

The pavilion’s plants have been refreshed to create a more ethereal feel. Twisted branches adorned with Spanish moss reach out of the central bed, dark-foliaged Alocasia , coral bells, coleus, and Persian shield plants sit below . Hanging baskets filled with exotic bromeliads and air plants that resemble spider-like forms descend from the ceiling. All of this was designed to create space for the spiders to make their webs.

“Our pavilion has been home to hundreds of butterflies over the past few years, so we thought it was time to try something new,” said Adrienne Nakashima, the Garden’s CEO. “Spiders may seem frightening to some, but they are misunderstood and are actually a vital part of our ecosystem and an important resident of gardens. Being able to educate our guests and flip the conversations being had about these arthropods is exactly what we want to be doing with our exhibits.”

Playing on the misunderstood angle, ‘All Things Wicked & Wonderful’ will also feature Diabolical and Misunderstood plantings in a Garden Graveyard through November 30. Think macabre plants that have a sorted reputation for having diabolical traits. These brand-new plantings play up the “wicked” visuals with strikingly dark foliage, while interpretive signage educates guests on why these plants are simply misunderstood. And, of course, there will be Instagrammable photo opps throughout the exhibit.

To get guests into the Halloween spirit, a Witch Hunt throughout October will lead guests through the Garden’s 87 acres in search of a wicked witch who has been spotted haunting the Garden. Guests will be led to four locations in the Garden, and on the last four weekends of the month, we’re certain our hunt-goers will catch a glimpse of the witch in person. And she may not be so wicked afterall.

‘All Things Wicked & Wonderful’ also includes our Howl-o-ween Costume Contest taking place during our Dog Walking Hours on October 30, and additional themed classes throughout the month.

We want everyone to come and experience this first-of-its-kind experience and maybe realize what you thought was wicked or diabolical, is actually misunderstood and quite wonderful.”

The features of the unit can also influence the price. Some Magic Pak units come with enhanced technology, such as energy-efficient components, variable fan speeds, and programmable thermostats. These advanced features can increase the cost of the unit but provide additional benefits in terms of comfort and energy savings. In addition to the base price of the unit, there may be additional costs for installation, maintenance, and any optional accessories. Installation costs can vary depending on the complexity of the installation process and any customization required for a specific application. It is recommended to consult with a Magic Pak dealer or HVAC professional to get an accurate estimate for the total cost, including the unit, installation, and any additional expenses. They can provide valuable guidance and help determine the most suitable Magic Pak unit for your specific needs and budget. Overall, Magic Pak prices can vary depending on factors such as the model, features, and additional costs. It's essential to consider these factors and consult with professionals to make an informed decision and find the best solution for your heating, cooling, and ventilation requirements..

Reviews for "The Pros and Cons of Magic Pak Pricing"

1. John - 1 star - I was incredibly disappointed with Magic Pak Pricea. The product did not live up to its claims at all. The quality was subpar, with flimsy materials and poor craftsmanship. It also did not deliver the promised results - my clothes were not magically folded and organized as shown in the advertisements. I feel like I wasted my money on this useless product.
2. Sarah - 2 stars - The Magic Pak Pricea seemed like a great concept, but it fell short on execution. The product arrived late and was poorly packaged. The instructions were unclear and it took me a while to figure out how to use it properly. Even then, it didn't work as smoothly as advertised. It was clunky and difficult to maneuver. I expected better for the price I paid.
3. David - 2 stars - I was initially excited to try out the Magic Pak Pricea, but unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. The product was not as durable as I had hoped, and some parts broke off after just a few uses. Additionally, it did not fold my clothes neatly as promised, leaving them wrinkled and messy. I ended up returning it for a refund.
4. Emma - 1 star - The Magic Pak Pricea was a complete waste of money. It was advertised as a time-saving solution for organizing clothes, but it actually took longer for me to fold them with this product. The design was not user-friendly, and I found myself struggling to fit my clothes into the folding mechanism. The end result was far from the neatly folded stacks I was hoping for. Save your money and fold your clothes the old-fashioned way.
