The warm, welcoming vibes at Leisha’s Bakeria could only be matched by the flavor that bursts from every bite in this hip downtown cafe. Their Hashbrown Waffles are well worth the 15 minute wait (items are made to order) – we tried out the Bacon and Cheddar variety and would gladly make the trip back to Bridgeport just to order it again. Leisha’s Bakeria is closed on weekends but is open Monday through Friday, 7AM - 2PM.

Ki Delicia Brazilian Bakery & Deli

Stop by for lunch and be sure to pick up a dessert along the way at Ki Delicia, located on Beers Street. This combo bakery and deli has a wide variety of freshly-prepared breads and pastries ready to order, including a tasty dulce de leche bun we tried for ourselves. Ki Delicia also bakes and decorates cakes for any sort of special occasion you may have coming up. Ki Delicia is open daily from 5AM - 8PM.

If for some reason you’re a fan of having a hard time deciding what to order, then Pombal Bakery will fit the bill – its wide variety of desserts and pastries make for a difficult decision when ordering, though you can’t really make a wrong choice. From traditional Portuguese pastries to Italian and French delicacies like eclairs and fruit tarts (cookies are also available and sold by the pound), Pombal Bakery is a convenient spot to satisfy your sweet tooth. Pombal Bakery is open daily from 5AM - 7PM (closes Sundays at 2PM).

H & H Bakery

Great things come in small packages, and that’s exactly what you’ll find at H & H Bakery, located on Fairfield Avenue. The smell of freshly baked pastries hits you before you even step foot inside, and you’ll immediately miss the sweet aroma the moment you leave. Not only do they offer tasty sweets like conchas, but they’re at a great value, too. H & H Bakery opens at 9AM daily. They close 9PM Mondays, 7PM Tuesday through Friday, 6PM Saturday, and 4PM on Sunday.

How does a selection of 50 different donut fillings sound? That’s exactly what you’ll have to choose from when visiting Magical Fantasia. Their claim to fame are their luxury donuts, which can come with a variety of fillings including nutella, bavarian cream, and chantilly. Magical Fantasia originally operated as a cottage bakery , but it will soon have a storefront on Barnum Avenue. For now, customers can contact the bakery ahead of time (they have requested their followers to DM them on Instagram) to preorder donuts and other assorted pastries for curbside pickup.
